Hi all,

Has anyone done this? We wanted to try it this time around. Also, is the restaurant "Bistro De' Paris"?

Thanks in advance.

France does not do breakfast.

There are 2 Table Service restaurants in France.
The one you walk by in the pavilion is Les Chefs de France. They offer lunch and dinner and participate in the DDP.

Bistro de Paris is upstairs, and is more upscale and more expensive. They do not participate in the DDP, but they do accept the DDE card for a discount.

You can make ADRs for Les Chefs at 180 days, but only 30 days in advance for Bistro.

Thanks for your reply. I had read over on the "Things Disney Offers but Doesn't Advertise" thread that this was one, and was wondering. Oh well, any other suggestions on a place to eat before the park officially opens?

I did eat at France once before the park opened. But it was a food & wine festival special event, which is offered only once a year and costs the big bucks.

I imagine if this can be done, it is as part of a special event or a private booking only.

Also check out the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. Fresh at the Dolphin is also open at breakfast.

I too, had visions of getting up early, before the rest of the family wakes up, and going to France...to the bakery, for breakfast...sitting and having pastry and coffee. If this is not possible in France...is it possible anywhere??? We are staying at the GF...walking distance from there would be ideal. Any suggestions?

I'm going to move this over to our restaurant board for you.

You definitely can't walk from the Grand Floridian to France since it's at Epcot.

You can go over to the Polynesian (walk via the Wedding Pavilion) and get your breakfast at the Kona Island Cafe Coffee Bar.

I was hoping to do the monorail, for France...I have read, though that it takes an average of an hour to get there...don't really believe that. Otherwise, somewhere in walking distance.

My family takes FORVEVER to get going in the AM, so I was hoping to take advantage of the early AM to get myself coffee and pastry somewhere, and then go back and meet up with them. Last year, I found myself getting so frustrated wanting to get up and go...and having to wait for them.
I did think the Kona Cafe...heard their coffee is the best, actually. France just seems so much more quaint.

I think that the Kona coffee bar has been replaced with a Sushi bar, so that's not really an option any longer if I'm correct.

If you're staying at the GF why not just go downstairs to the Grand Floridian Cafe? They serve breakfast there and I'm sure you could get something light and then take it out to the pool deck or one of the garden areas.

There is no way you can have breakfast in France at Epcot - the World Showcase is closed until 11AM. We usually buy croissants and eclairs from France's Patisserie in the evenings and take it back to our room to have for breakfast the following morning. It's a tasty way to kick off the day.

That's not good to hear...Sushi is good but, not for breakfast with coffee. Isn't there a bakery in MK? With tables?

Yes, the Main Street Bakery is probably what you are thinking of. They can be busy, but then again, what isn't at WDW? ;)

I'm envisioning coffee and a pastry...at a table with an umbrella, early morning...with a view of the castle. What could be better than that...especially at the MK???:lovestruc
