(Updated 10/5) Treat Yo'Self - an Aug 2025 TR to Disneyland Paris

I usually love a bath too, so this is new territory for me having to make sure that all our rooms have a walk-in shower lol! Unfortunately for some reason Disney don't allow booking accessible rooms online. You have to call. For now I've just booked regular rooms. I will definitely have to call now anyway since we have changed our arrival date, and you also can't make any changes online 🤦‍♀️

I'd like to look into a DAS pass for Grandma, but she doesn't want to make a big deal of it. I'd probably have to go to the doctor with her to explain what we need from him. Definitely not ruling it out!

I just finished your report on Tokyo Disney and then headed over here. I was off the Dis for a few weeks for surgery. I can't wait to hear more of this trip too.

oh weird! I thought I saw accessible rooms online but Disney Paris's website sucks so who knows. Good luck! Hopefully you're able to get what you need!

ah that makes sense about the DAS - may be worth looking into more and seeing if the benefits/accessibility outweighs the desire to not make it a big deal. But at least for shows and such, you can pay for it and get probably a similar benefit.

Oops! - Saturday Aug 23, 2025 (part 1)

I slept really well in the room - I woke up super late at like 11 am! Oops...I haven't slept that late in a while but I guess I was exhausted. Poor Trevor had woken up before me but let me sleep in - I told him after I woke up he should have gotten ready and gone into the park if he wanted! Oh well.

So we got up and got ready, and were heading out at 11:30 am. We definitely missed early magic hours!
zIMG_3022.JPG
Haunted Mansion shirts today, but with my Monsters Inc popcorn bucket bag.

As we were walking in we grabbed some breakfast snackies from Disney Village:
zIMG_3023.JPG
Croissant for me and crepe and muffin for Trevor.
zIMG_3025.JPG

We ate as we walked and then there was basically no wait to get into the park, but as we walked in, the Stars on Parade parade was going!
zIMG_3028.JPG
We didn't stick around to watch it; we wanted to ride Phantom Manor! It was posting a 5 min wait so off we went. We walked through the arcade there on the side of Main Street and "discovered" a shortcut into Frontierland - instead of turning right at the exit to the arcade, there's a pathway to the left:
zIMG_3031.JPG
And it takes you right into Frontierland! Not sure how I've missed this before but it was super convenient, cause we were basically right there at Phantom Manor!
zIMG_3032.JPG
Woot! It was indeed a walkon -
zIMG_3033.JPG
I always love walking by this little gazebo.

We had a great ride, but as we got off Phantom was no longer a walk on - there was a 15 min or so wait, which I assume is 'cause the parade ended. We were planning to do Big Thunder next, but the app was showing it down and when we got over there the queue was emptying out, so we assumed it was going to be down for a while at least. We bought the fastpass so we had it, and then headed over to ride Pirates!
zIMG_3035.JPG
Over at Pirates it said the wait was 15 min so we were planning to wait but then 1. the line looked long (it was outside) and 2. fastpass was only 7 euros so we decided to Treat Our Selves and buy the fastpass. :) Trevor found a hidden mickey in the fastpass line:
zIMG_3038.JPG
We were able to walk right on to the merge point. Woot!

PXL_20250823_102219391.jpg
We got the last row.

From Pirates to Fantasy - Saturday Aug 23, 2025 (part 2)

I think this is my favorite version of Pirates, don't ask me why! :)
PXL_20250823_102729087.jpg
Hi Red!

zIMG_3041.JPG
That's us there in the very back. :)

We ended up doing some shopping in the gift shop and discovered they would send our purchases to the hotel - YAY! Best thing ever. :)

We were planning to go to Space Mountain, but it was down, so we made our way over to Fantasyland and were looking in the gift shops there instead. In the one gift shop I found that they had a collectible key for Snow White so I bought that. The gift shop had some cute theming though -
zIMG_3042.JPG
Castle!

And:
Snow White appears in the mirror! How cool is that?

We then went over to the candy shop:
zIMG_3044.JPG
I just love that it's the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty. And inside...

The fairies!

And since we were right there, of course we had to go into the castle.
zIMG_3048.JPG
I didn't take a ton of pictures this time...just a couple!
zIMG_3054.JPG
zIMG_3055.JPG
The stone raven has red eyes!
zIMG_3052.JPG
And of course, my favorite stained glass window:

Lightspeed Lounge - Saturday Aug 23, 2025 (part 3)

While we were up there, we saw Princess Minnie out on the balcony!
zIMG_3083.JPG
That was kind of neat. Apparently it was the start of World Princess Week and Princess Minnie was out for that. We did manage to get a commemorative card for World Princess Week too, which I appreciated. I like ephemera. :)

At this point it was about 1:15, and so we decided to go to Lightspeed Lounge, and hope we got lucky and could meet the BDX droids.

As we walked up, we saw Boba Fett hope there, so we were like "oooh!" Trevor loves Boba Fett and I don't think he's ever met him, so we were hoping he could meet Boba Fett. You order at the counter up there and then they give you your snack and drinks and show you to your table. This is the view from the counter:
zIMG_3092.JPG
Pretty well all the seats are good, and I appreciated that 1. there was shade and 2. the cast members were cognizant of seating people in the shade. We got seated off to the right side there.
IMG_3093.JPG
Biscuits and a "boarding pass".

I got the "Starspeeder Fusion" drink: Hibiscus-raspberry infusion, non-alcoholic chamomile vermouth, seedlip, verjus juice, agave syrup, and peppermint hydrosol.
zIMG_3095.JPG
The ice cube had the lounge logo on it, which was cool. The drink itself was not bad - it has that non-alcoholic spirit taste, but not bad.
zIMG_3100.JPG
zIMG_3101.JPG
Trevor didn't like it as much. He got the the orange Fanta, which came with a Lightspeed Lounge cup:
zIMG_3096.JPG
We decided to not use it and save it to take home instead. :)

And an update on Boba Fett! Trevor asked the CMs as we were getting our drinks and they said that he generally just goes around the lounge stopping at each chair and it looked like he was wrapping up but he could ask the character attendant and maybe they'd bring him around. And they did!

PXL_20250823_114251643.jpg
PXL_20250823_114303921.jpg
Yay! Definitely a good start to our Lightspeed Lounge experience.

Meeting Orange! - Saturday Aug 23, 2025 (part 4)

After Trevor met Boba, he wandered around for a couple more minutes:
zIMG_3106.JPG
PXL_20250823_114637964.jpg
Then as he left, the train was going by so Boba stopped and waved to them:
PXL_20250823_114754778.jpg
Kind of funny - you're on the lovely little train ride and boom, bounty hunter!!

We were just waiting at that point to see who the next characters would be (hoping for the droid and not the stormtroopers lol), so enjoying our drinks and shortbread cookies:
IMG_3104.JPG
Logos on the cookies and on the napkin!

Then we noticed a woman walking around dressed like a rebel, but not a character we recognized. And then she came up to us and was like "hey I've lost a droid, have you seen it?" So we were like "oooooh maybe it's the droid!!!" We were trying not to get our hopes up but then it was the droid! Yay!!! This really was what we were hoping for out of the lounge but it wasn't guaranteed and there was no set schedule, so yay!

We were near the end of the droid's rounds, so we had fun watching him walk around a bit, and then it was our turn! It was the orange droid, clevely named "Orange". We had a little dance party and honestly, this droid is so cute. So much personality despite not actually talking - it was so fun. Like he did a "fistbump" with someone with his head, and wore someone's hat.
zIMG_3113.JPG
IMG_3123.JPG
zIMG_3148.JPG
I loved that we were able to meet him in a small group and not be mobbing him like I expect the droids are at the parks when they just wander around. There was a family seated at the table across from us and their 2 year old was asleep in the wagon, and Orange went over to the wagon right as the toddler was waking up and peeking up over the wagon, and the toddler saw Orange and just ducked right back down - it was hilarious!

So yea, Boba Fett and a droid? Calling that a win - absolutely worth the drink price to get in. :)

There was some really fun theming too -
zIMG_3164.JPG
zIMG_3158.JPG
zIMG_3160.JPG
Aw poor Rex - defective. :(

Glad to see HM has fixed their wait time sign or at least made it look better with colored paper. This is from May.

Continuing our Adventures in Space - Saturday Aug 23, 2025 (part 5)

We were looking around a bit more and enjoying the view:
zIMG_3165.JPG
IMG_3166.JPG
We did notice Space Mountain was back open, so that's where we'd head next!

Had to get a picture of Trevor with Star Tours, since it's his favorite ride:
zIMG_3172.JPG

Then right as we were about to head out, the stormtroopers came out, so of course we met them - they're always fun.
PXL_20250823_124148706.jpg
I do not remember our interaction at all, but I was probably sassing the stormtroopers - I usually do. :)
PXL_20250823_124206148.jpg
PXL_20250823_124228615.MP.jpg
So yea, overall we had a great experience at Lightspeed Lounge. The drink is definitely overpriced, but if you think of it as paying for the characters and meeting them without standing in line or it being too crowded, it was absolutely worth it for us: Boba Fett, the droid, and stormtroopers!
zIMG_3176.JPG
We were worried that we'd just get the stormtroopers, so it was a nice surprise that we didn't. Had to take the selfie with the sign and the boarding passes and the cups - as we left we asked the CM at the counter if we could buy an extra cup so we could have a cup for each of us, and they just gave us the cup! So that was super nice.

Next up - Space Mountain! We didn't wait very long at all, though I had to ask for row 9 and even then almost didn't fit - had to have Trevor push me in hard. Eeesh!
zIMG_3182.JPG
Such a good ride.

Then as we left, we were walking over to Star Tours but we passed the meet and greet with Mandalorian and Grogu, and so we hopped in that line. It was about a 30 minute wait but worth it:

PXL_20250823_134450117.jpg
Hi Grogu!

Garlic Bread and A Princess - Saturday Aug 23, 2025 (part 6)

According to Mando, Grogu didn't trust one of us - I decided it was Trevor. :)
PXL_20250823_134509627.jpg
He's so cute! :) Love this meet and greet.

This was about 3:45, and the next thing we (I :)) wanted to see was Princess Aurora's show thing on the castle at 4 pm. It was a show for World Princess Week and since I love Sleeping Beauty, we figured we'd catch that. So we started heading back that way (the little shortcut between Discoveryland and Fantasyland was open), and as we passed Lightspeed Lounge, the stormtroopers were exiting as well!
zIMG_3195.JPG
They were walking the same way we were so we may or may not have tried to get some quick selfies:
zIMG_3206.JPG
PXL_20250823_134857950.jpg
Always fun. :)

Then Trevor went over to the castle while I stopped in to get some garlic bread for us! There was no mobile order sadly, but the line wasn't long, and then it got even shorter: I got put at a register with two groups in front of me, and then first group finished and the next group was like "oh no! we don't know what we want!" so they were just kind of standing there looking and I made eye contact with the CM like "I know what I want" so he waved me forward and I got to order while the other group was still dithering. Woot!
zIMG_3209.JPG
zIMG_3210.JPG
The bread was so good! Buttery and garlicy with actual minced garlic...love it. Definitely one of my favorite park snacks, just a bit of a pain to get it.

Then the princess show! I filmed it on Trevor's phone but I don't have the video yet (:(). It was smaller than I thought - the announcers came out and blew the trumpets and then Sleeping Beauty just came out and waved as the music played for like 10/15 minutes.
PXL_20250823_141807186.jpg
Still fun, but not really a show. Glad I got to see it though.
IMG_3213.JPG
Then I got to see her as she exited too, so that was nice:
zIMG_3225.JPG
Snow White was also out meeting, but sitting outside the little Snow White cottage gift shop - I love the pairing of the character with the setting but I wasn't able to get a picture. Oh well.

Next up? Big Thunder Mountain! It was finally open! But we went by way of the dragon under the castle, cause can't miss that!

Over at Big Thunder, we waited 5 min and got row 15 again:
zIMG_3243.JPG
Yay!

Quick Trip to Avengers Campus - Saturday Aug 23, 2025 (part 7)

With that, time to head over to Studios! First up, we wanted to ride Flight Force. It was posting 5 minutes so we just waited in line - it ended up being about 5 minutes to the pre-show:
zIMG_3246.JPG
And then another 5 minutes to get onto the ride itself -
GetImage (4).jpg
So fun. :) We actually got pulled out of line a little bit back 'cause they needed two people. I love when that happens, it always feels like a bonus to get pulled out of line just a bit early.

Next up, Webslingers, and then back to the hotel to change for our dinner reservation. With the fastpass, it was about 15 minutes from entering the line to getting on the vehicle - not too bad. The line after the pre-show wasn't too bad:
zIMG_3255.JPG
Usually it's much further back.

PXL_20250823_154856156.jpg
We did great this ride - even better than yesterday!
PXL_20250823_155253055.jpg
I got the highest score in the car - I got the best score in the first game, but not the next two, and then pulled it off in the end. :)
PXL_20250823_155414681.jpg
5th best this hour!!! Woot!!!

With that high, we were back to the hotel to change for our fancy dinner. But as we passed the food stands in Disney Village we stopped...I didn't realize Trevor took this picture of me but that is an extremely self-satisfied smile cause yay strawberries!
PXL_20250823_160556147.MP.jpg
I was offering them to Trevor though so he could try them :)
PXL_20250823_160603306.MP.jpg
They are a bit hard to eat so you just have to go for it. :)

Trevor got a crepe:
PXL_20250823_160734702.MP.jpg

Snacks secured, we continued onto the hotel - with a couple more pictures of the artwork above the stores, 'cause pretty. :)

La Foret Secrete - Saturday Aug 23, 2025 (part 8)

zIMG_3258.JPG
zIMG_3259.JPG
I love these so much.

Anyways! We went back to the hotel, got changed into slightly nicer clothes, and were off to the Disneyland Hotel for dinner at La Foret Secrete! This is the fancy new-ish restaurant in the hotel, on the castle club level, so I was excited to try it.
zIMG_3261.JPG
Trevor was mad at himself cause he forgot to bring a buttondown shirt. But it was fine. :) Also castle on the mirror in the elevator!

Once you get to the second floor, you go to the Castle Club elevators and pick up the telephone and tell them you have a reservation and they send the elevator for you. Fancy!
zIMG_3263.JPG
Fancy view from the 3rd floor :)

We got brought in to the restaurant immediately: it's smaller than I expected, but that was kind of nice. I was hoping we'd get seated near the windows but unfortunately we got seated near the back:
zIMG_3266.JPG
Even so, not bad.

The ceiling is mirrors with branches and such for the lights:
zIMG_3267.JPG
zIMG_3268.JPG
and the theme continued with the wall sconces:
zIMG_3275.JPG
There's birds in there too!

The menu was a storybook!
zIMG_3265.JPG
And of course, candles on the table:
zIMG_3271.JPG

Not real, but realistic!

The Meal Begins! - Saturday Aug 23, 2025 (part 9)

There are two menus: 5 courses, or 3 courses. We decided to go with the 5 course menu cause we 1. weren't in a rush and 2. the fancy poison apple dessert was only available on the 5 course menu. But I did ask to swap in one of the dishes from the three course menu... :)

I apparently didn't take a picture of the drinks menu, but they didn't have anything super interesting that was non-alcoholic, except this Olaf white chocolate drink thing:
zIMG_3276.JPG
It was more white chocolate than I like, but Trevor thought it was fine. And it is pretty adorable.

We started with an amuse-bouche inspired by Up:
zIMG_3280.JPG
The bread was a saffron bread, and then each color was a different flavor sauce: green was watercress, yellow was lemon, light purple was red onion, dark purple was red cabbage, and then the orange one I didn't quite catch what it was beyond spicy.

I really liked this whole dish - you could really taste the saffron in the bread, which is a flavor I love and is usually super subtle, so that was nice. And then we were having fun trying the sauces - the red onion was my favorite but the green was interesting, and the orange one too was good and just a little bit spicy. I didn't like the lemon or the cabbage one really. Trevor liked the orange and the watercress best, but he also tried mixing sauces together which I didn't think of - brilliant!
zIMG_3282.JPG
Yum. Definitely a good start.

We also got regular bread and butter:
zIMG_3283.JPG
I got white bread; Trevor got seeded bread:
PXL_20250823_175711003.jpg
Both of these were good - the bread had a very hard crust but it was soft inside with a lovely flavor. And then, the butter!
zIMG_3284.JPG
that's the Disneyland hotel clock on it! One half was salted butter and the other half was pepper butter. Both were good but the regular salted was my favorite. And I really appreciated that the butter was soft and spreadable - nothing irks me more than when I go to spread butter and it's cold and hard and doesn't spread.

Then the actual first course! Under the Sea: Langoustine , shellfish , citrus fruits, Imperial Sologne caviar
zIMG_3285.JPG
The green bits were sponge cake and the coral tree was made with rice? I didn't quite catch it all. There was also a sauce with parsley and maybe shellfish? Again I didn't quite catch it all.
zIMG_3286.JPG
So I'm not a seafood fan, but I'm discovering I tend to like caviar and langoustine. I did appreciate that they told us we could dip the food into the sauce or pour it over - in these fancy restaurants I like the hints on on how to eat it! We had so many utensils too we weren't sure what quite to use - I literally googled fish knife to see if that was what one of the utensils was. LOL Eventually we just gave up and used the utensils from the outside in.

Overall I enjoyed this dish - I liked the salty kick of the caviar and the langoustine flavor. Beyond that I wasn't sure what I was eating but it wasn't horrible. There was a long thing jelly thing that may have been some kind of fish that I didn't love, but overall it was very interesting and fun to eat.

As we were eating here we watched some couples come in and get seated right at the windows, so next time (if there is a next time) I'll definitely go for a slightly later seating and ask to be sat at the window. :) I always forget I can make these types of requests!

Ok, next course: Mrs Potts' Brew: 0Stuffed morels, ricotta , broad beans. This description doesn't really highlight what it is though - it's tomato water poured over cold watermelon and ricotta.
zIMG_3290.JPG
And poured out of Mrs Potts!
zIMG_3287.JPG
I think this was my favorite dish of the night - I loved the combination of the watermelon and cheese and tomato water. It was cold which surprised me initially but was really good. Trevor gave me most of his cheese, which was also delightful. Trevor didn't love this dish but I really did, especially cause it was such an interesting combination of flavors that I never would have thought of but worked really well for me. It also came with some herbed focaccia (picture limit).
