Eating at AKL

Does BOMA only serve breakfast & dinner? Is Mara the only lunch choice? How is it? I have not really heard much about it. Should we skip lunch at AKL & eat in the park we'll be going to that day? Need help eating lucnh at AKL.

Lunch at Mara is not bad at all. They have a delicious African soup served in a bread bowl (I assume it's available at lunch). They have bagels, salads, fresh fruit,sandwiches, zebra domes. You can easily find a decent lunch there. Save some room for supper at Boma, though. It's outstanding.

We have had several meals at Mara throughout the day, and always enjoyed the food.

Mara is a good quick choice. A taste of Africa with enough "American " food to keep just about any one happy. The soup is very nice.

Yes, Mara is the only lunch choice other then room service.

We have eaten at Mara several times and found it to be good. They have a very nice grilled chicken on pretzel bread sandwich in the premade section. When we are not staying at AKL, we go by and get one of these and some zebra domes to take back to our resort to munch on later.

Mara is a food court and the only lunch option. It is really quite good-- their soups and salads really stand out and their grab-and-go stuff is really good! During my stay in April, I ate here several times and thought it was great. It can however be very S-L-O-W to get food at times.

Yes please...what is a zebra dome....I hope it doesn't have a coffee or mocha flavor cause everyone raves about them!

Zebra domes do have a coffee flavor - they have espresso and kahlua in them, along with lots of chocolate, but they are truly fabulous! They're on the buffet at Boma, but you can get them at Mara too, and we even brought them back home with us!
