Eat, Run and Celebrate- Day 7- Last Day and New Orleans

Hello...just caught up on the last twenty plus pages and I enjoyed every second of it. Your pictures are great and you seem to be having a wonderful time. I am so excited to see your pictures of all the F+W booths. In the past, I've only given them the most cursory of glances as I assumed I'd never get to go...but...as luck would have it, I think I'm going to be there come October of 2012! And you're making it all look very, very appealing! :goodvibes

As for the woman with the shaved mickey head thing...oh dear...that's so NOT appealing. :lmao:

Welcome back. I know people are real busy this time of year.

The first time I went during Food and Wine I didn't really appreciate it. I have come to really enjoy the weather and during the week Food and Wine.
Right now unless something major comes along I am booked for Oct 15-19 2012.

I thought the man at the start of the day with the Mickey head was cute but this.... :scared1:

I walked through the Beach Club to cool off and look around again.

This was the day we were at AK and it was HOT, the hottest day of our entire trip. So I feel you.

We were lined up to meet Deb Willis from Allears and it felt rather strange to be a fan. She was very nice and welcoming.

Very cool! :thumbsup2

How fun that you got to meet Deb from All Ears! :thumbsup2

Those wrist cards are very dangerous, but oh so much fun to have while strolling through the booths!

Beautiful panoramic photo of the resorts! It turned out great!

Drat! We'll miss eachother by a day. I'm planning on going down for the weekend of the 19th. Not optimal, but its as much time as I can swing that time of the year.

allears is definitely an awesome website. :thumbsup2 We refer people to it all the time when they ask about planning a Disney trip.

The trading cards are neat.

We got that same Living with the Land pin.

I like all your resort pictures. You know resort-hopping is one of my favorite things to do. I'm a little bit of a dork, because I sometimes youtube resort videos just to 'walk around' them right from home.

I love Mickey but that's just wrong.

I definitely agree. Hilarious that you took a photo. Isn't it funny what some people think is so cool, others think is super tacky ?? It takes all kinds to make this world an interesting place though, so I enjoy seeing those kinds of things even though I wouldn't do it myself.

How exciting that you got to meet Deb !! I wonder if she knows how invaluable her information is to us and how thankful we are .....:lovestruc

I was seriously praying for a cool down quick for the race the next day.

Short hair- I get it but this would seriously take a while to grow out.

It was fun and I would do another one if I had the chance.

Those wrist cards are very dangerous, but oh so much fun to have while strolling through the booths!

I wish you could just scan them instead of taking it off to swipe each time.
The whole process of trying to put it back on with your hands full ( especially after a few :lmao:) was quite a task.

Thanks. I need to practice a bit more to get it really straight but taking the time to do it was fun.

I still need to get vacation approval but I have the reservation and Food and Wine and staying at BCV would be ideal.

I direct people there all the time. I like the Mr. Toad ride card since it holds fond memories for me.

We got that same Living with the Land pin.
I got a bunch of pins this trip. You will have to wait to see how that all happened.

Depending on crowds and weather, I may be doing more resort hopping this trip. I have watched some of those videos on allears.

"Trink" is the German word for drink. You'll notice that the other writing is also in German.
party: :welcome: party: Thanks for chiming in. Flossbolna has not been around or she would have said that too. My German is very limited so thanks.

Mickey Earrings, Mickey Shirt, Mickey purse - yup. Mickey Shaved in the back of my head and all the other hair shaped around it.... Nope

I think hundreds of people were telling her all afternoon. :lmao: She was so nice and down to earth. I did some gushing and then moved on.

Here I am back at ASSp waiting for a bus to WWoS so I can pick up my race packet. Another bus arrives quickly- the law of equalization may get me later.

Soon I arrive

Following many of the directions.

I see these shirts and had to share the laughs.

After I walked around, had a few laughs and checked it all out I went back to the entrance and waited for the bus. I waited and Waited and Waited. It seems that for some reason the shuttle busses are running close together so 2 come close together and then you wait forever until the 2 make their rounds and then come back close together. I must have waited 30 minutes. At the Expo they were giving out free samples of Greek yogurt but I had to throw out when I got back because it was too hot and the yogurt got warm and was taking no chances.

Next up Dinner and perhaps the snit of the trip?

Cool pictures of WWoS, something I may never see at Disney. I had two students who just played in the Pop Warner tournaments there. And the t-shirts are too funny!

WWoS is a rare sight. If I do another race I will see it again.

The expo was fun to walk around and they had so many funny shirts. I was entertained for some time. :lmao:

Ooh I see myself! I am almost under the Wide World of Sports banner with a tie dyed shirt and a Vera Bradley backpack. I bought one of the shirts that said "If you can read this, I'm not last" on the back.

That is sooo Awesome. :cool1: I just knew somebody had to see themself in the background of one of my pictures.

OOOhhh I f I would have seen that shirt I probably would have gotten it. :lmao:

The Rum shirt is pretty funny. So glad you got to meet Deb from allears. I love that website and I probably look there a few times a week on average.

Great update, Pat. Love those shirts--especially the one about sweating.

I remember that venue so well from 2000 when our son played baseball on those fields. :goodvibes

Well, I was four updates behind and I can't see any pictures, but it sounds like you had some very busy days at F&W. And some yummy drinks! :thumbsup2 Looking forward to hearing about the race, but picking up the race packet didn't sound so fun!

I'll be back later to see pics!
