Eat, Run and Celebrate- Day 7- Last Day and New Orleans

I last left you walking down towards the beach to find a lounge chair.
Hopefully you are comfy. ;)
I make myself comfortable on a lounge chair and being playing with the camera again as I wait. Finding Nemo is the movie on the beach tonight so I am sort of watching that too.

Finding Nemo is not over yet so I stand by the boat dock and watch the end. I let a boat come and go so I can see the end. :)

A woman walks by, turns around and walks back. She looks very confused. So I go into tour guide mode. I ask if she needs help. She just want to find the rooms. I casually ask if she is trying to get to the monorail or is she staying at the Poly. She says she is staying at the Poly. I figure that part is easy. Finally I think she finally sees the pool and gets her bearings.

I probably don’t have to mention that she had a bit to drink. She then gives me a hug to thanks me and goes on.

Another boat comes in and I go towards the MK.

I find my bus to All Star ( somehow the initials ASSp is asking for me to make a mistake :upsidedow)

We are blessed with a Cruise line bus. The family next to me had an infant and a toddler. The bus driver says he will store the stroller under the bus. The Dad is ecstatic that he does not have to haul it in the bus. Both kids are asleep by the time we get to the resort.

It is a little after 11 when I arrive back at the resort. I quickly dip into the food court to refill the mug and WHAT … they close at 11. Hmmm Pop at least stays open until 11:59. I wanted a pastry for the morning. Oh well that will have to wait. And Bad Luck strikes again.

Great EWP and fireworks pictures! No blur, impressive zoom...I'd say that new camera was well worth the investment! :thumbsup2

Sorry for no pastry, though. That's a killjoy.

Too fun about the woman at the boat dock! It was great that you were there to help her. She could have ended up in the lagoon! :rotfl2:

I love your pictures of the EWP! My favorite is the one with the GF. You got some great shots.

Oh no, Bad Luck strikes again! Curious to know what happened....

like an actual ME cruise line bus? im confused

was the lady who gave you ahug and drunk the famouse blue dress creature?

I especially like this one:

Hey, that's how I tip the bellhop! ;)

I hate that the food courts close and you can refill...that is a pet peeve of mine. they really should have a spot where we can refill mugs 24 hours a day

So sad. I remember reading that the switch person might have been to blame. I hope they've figured out how to avoid this in the future. Seems like there should be stopgaps in place a long time ago....:sad2:

The switchperson did get distracted and thought he was done switiching when he was not. 2 people are assigned to double check the track and neither did.
It is sad that they probably felt rushed to complete the job and with distractions and all an important piece got forgotton. :sad2:

I think they have tightened up the process and added yet another layer of protection and when monorails are changing tracks I think everything else stops now.

Thanks for the Poly pictures! One day, I will stay there. ::yes::

Yes, I got a glass for our sand. At first, I thought it was too big, but it seems that it is almost filled with Poly sand now. After a little pinch every trip - it adds up! :goodvibes

Have you thought about a Plan B spot for NYE in case they have the beach blocked off?

I have some sand too. :rolleyes1 I thought I had a place to but it but I don't like it what it in, so I may change it.

I hope the beach is not blocked so I have not given it too much thought but I hope there is a place for us to relax and watch. The contemporary odservation deck may be a possibility. :confused3 I would feel like we were watching it from the wrong angle though.

I really like that camera. :lovestruc Yeah the no pastry becomes a problem the next morning.

It might have been because I was swaying too but until she hugged me and staggered off she just seemed disorientated. :lmao: Then when she said she was staying there, I started to figure out that maybe she was a bit impaired.

It is so lovely there at night.

Oh no, Bad Luck strikes again! Curious to know what happened....

Hopefully I can squeeze an update in this weekend. I am at work so I don't have the partially written report on this computer.

Yup a cruise bus. Nice cushiony seats and everything. I guess at park close they bring in all available busses to help with moving people. The guy with the stroller was so thankful he didn't have to lug that huge stroller up the stairs.

was the lady who gave you ahug and drunk the famouse blue dress creature?

Now that would have been picture worthy. Sadly no just a woman who was alone and a bit confused as to where she got off and where she needed to go.

I especially like this one:

Hopefully I can get some nice NYE fireworks photos this year. I bought a monopod but have yet to use it. It is a bit more compact than the full tripod so if I remember to actually take it with me maybe it will help.

No Liesa greeting??!?!?!?:lmao:

I liked it when at the Contemporary it was 24 hours. I understand that it very slow and not budget wise from midnight to 6 am but they should at least stay open until a bit after the parks close and EMH. They had both sides of the drink machines down, one already wrapped up after cleaning and one in process. Would have been nice if I could have gotten something.

Thanks for helping the lost, drunk lady. Too much wine, not enough food at the old F&W festival.

Really, really nice ELP pictures. That is one thing I have not tried to photograph with my camera. I think maybe I will give it a go in December.

Lovely way to spend the evening. I so love the Poly beach! Especially now that I know that ALL the bartenders make a great mai-tai!

It was almost like I was waiting for her. I was watching the end of Finding Nemo from the boat dock and I think she probably got off the boat I let go because I wanted to see the end of the movie. :lmao:

I wouldn't want to have her end up in the lagoon.

Thanks. I can usually get one of the floats pretty clear, but I was able to get them all this time, even with 2 Mai tais.:lmao:
I was able to get the CR too and usually that one has been hard for me.

It is my must do. :lovestruc A bit of Disney but without the crowd and mayhem. nice way to wind down.
I have started thinking that walking back to the GF DVC afterwards might be nice.

Thanks for sharing the fun EWP photos! Something I really want to see - especally with a beach involved. Was the beach crowded?

Love the Wishes pics! Nice you could help the "lost lady." :thumbsup2

The EWP being an "original" attraction of sorts, is a simple way to wind down your evening. The beach on normal night is not too crowded, I have always found a chaise, and rarely had peole on either side of me.

As for the lost lady, I always seem to be pointing people in the right direction or helping them find their way. :goodvibes

Oh, Disney World at night, so pretty... I just always love how it looked at night and these pictures really get that essence. HalloWishes look so cool and I'm so jealous you got to see that and EWP! I've always wanted to see EWP and HalloWishes is... well, HalloWishes, unless you do MNSSHP then there is no way you will see it. Hopefully someday I'll see it :cloud9:

LOL @ the tipsy lady, that must've been an interesting situation right there. She definitely had a bit too much to drink that night, but she seemed nice enough (:

Sorry you didn't get to refill your mug or get your pastry. I imagine they would close early at those resorts, but it does seem wiser to leave those places open longer at resorts depending :/ Well, maybe next time :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

The next container I get at WDW will be one for Brooklynn to keep her flower petals in. She loves to collect flowers and various leaves, cones, etc. when we are walking around.

We'll put Wigd and Shocker on the research team, too, for a Plan B in location, should it be needed. I would like to be somewhere where we can sit, if possible, and have some room. We saw fireworks from the top of BLT with them, and it was an awesome location, no doubt, but it was hard on the little ones especially. It was a standing room only situation (bumper to bumper) and the kids had to be lifted up to see over heads. Wonder what kind of views there are over at GF? I don't know what might be blocked by trees or something like that.

While I did Hallowishes from Main street once, I actually prefer it from the Poly. Yes the atmosphere etc on Main street is there but also the crowds.
I place I can sit with a drink in my hand, and my tush in a lounge chair is  for me.

She was fine and it was my pleasure to help those who cannot find their way. ;)

I was a little bummed and it turned out I really needed something i my mug and soemthing for my tummy the next morning.

I actually have a lamp that has a glass base that is made to fill with something. I originally got it for my DD and the various things she collected but we never filled it. I have it in my "poly" office with Poly sand but I am not sure I like the sand there. I may move it to 2 other containers.

I think on top at BLT may be too crowded like you said. We might be able to get away sitting on the lawn in front of the CR?
We will have to check out the GF and see if we can see.

Maybe we can all pile into a monorail car and just ride around and around?  :confused3

Day 2 Wednesday Sept 28.

I wake up early, like 6 something early. Still on real world go to work time I guess. As I come out of a deep sleep, I realize I have a little headache. I laugh and figure it was a little effect from the 2 Mai Tais the night before from John the bartender.

I also realize I did not take the nighttime allergy meds I needed to take so I took them in the morning. I was fine for a few minutes and even thought I would go for a run. I get up and wow something hit me. All of a sudden I am feeling sick. I spend the next little bit taking care of business and then crawl back into bed. I am cold and feel really woozy. Of course I need something in my stomach but can not make it to the Food court. If I was able to pick up a little somethin’ somethin’ last night I would be OK. AAARRRGGG This stinks.

I go back to bed and after up and down and tossing and turning, I realize I fell asleep. I wake up and yikes it is like 10 am !!! So much for rope drop.
I slowly get in the shower, Take the days allergy meds and slowly I am feeling better. As near as I can place it, the drinks were strong but I was probably dehydrated from the hot day yesterday and maybe the Minute Maid juice I had was partly to blame. The meds may have had a small part in the upset stomach too. The Mai Tais have pineapple and maybe orange juice so that combined with the pomegranate and lime made my stomach too acidic.

Anyway. I finally make it to the food court. I need something solid to settle my stomach. Oatmeal sounds like it could do the job.

Except- they are out of oatmeal. WHAT?!?!?! It is not even 10 am. ASSp is not earning any brownie points here.
So I end up with this.

IMG_0767.jpg

I slowly eat and let it settle. No use in trying to get on a bus while feeling woozy.

My plans for today have changed. No biggie nothing was set in stone.
I walk out to the bus stop and board a bus and end up here at 11:30!!!! That must be a new record for me.

Any guesses where I end up? :lmao:

As I pass the tip board I see that FOLK has a noon show. That might be just the thing to get my groove back.

There’s my monkey swinging on the swing.

I can’t help it, it seems like all the decent, and not so decent shots of my monkey.

HA I got one of the firedancer.

I like the way this one turned out. You can see soem personalitity in the performers.

IMG_0802.jpg

And the flying bird but she is a little blurry

Funny after the show I feel much better. Just what the doctor ordered. I just needed to get my blood flowing a bit.

This guy was playing outside the theater.
IMG_0814.jpg

Every time I pass this I have a flashback of my NYE trip with my girlfriends. It makes me smile and giggle a little.

IMG_0815.jpg

IMG_0816.jpg

Now that I am feeling less green, I can go on with my day. :)

Sorry you were feeling queezy. That happened to me on our December 2008 trip. And right before our Kona dinner reservation too. Glad it passed. And glad you saw your monkey!
