Eat, Run and Celebrate- Day 7- Last Day and New Orleans

I left you after I passed on a purchase, partied with some pirates, and took a look at Tortuga Tavern which sells no alcohol.

I would have to make it to Frontierland to accomplish my mission so back out into the sunlight I went.

I round the corner and walk past the entrance to SM and BTMRR. A little further and I strike gold.

A Mickey pretzel. Did it taste different? No But it was special just the same.

As I move forward I see more and more people. Ahhhh the 3 pm parade is coming through.

I decide to wait and watch. I don’t think I have seen this one all the way through either.

As I was watching I noticed after a while that all girls had the same hair style. Then it dawned on me that they are all wearing wigs.

At the end of every parade at MK at least, I always watch them break it down. One person unhooks the rope. The second person pulls the stanchion pole. The third person replaces the little round thing in the hole and the last person is winding up all the rope. It is a fascinating process and very efficient.

I need to get video of it. Still pictures never work and don’t do the process justice.

So now the parade is out of the way where should I head?

Great parade pictures. I cannot even imagine how hot they all must be...wigs and all!

It may be hard to believe but they actually looked hotter and sweatier than how they appeared inthe pictures. Everytime they would sweep their arms, they would wipe their brow. I felt bad for them and it was hot but I know it has been hotter so I can only imagine how they feel on the really hot days at 3pm. :scared1: or like this :faint:

I completely forgot about getting one of these for Brooklynn this past week!!!
With all the chaos that our traveling companions caused, we wasted a lot of time and got off track a lot. I should have written a check-off list. :sad2:

Not my Naveen.

I, too, have watched the undoing of the parade route. They definitely have it down to a science. ::yes::

Great update, Pat. That pretzel is HUGE...but Mark loves those pretzels. I hope they still have the Mickey ones next September.

We caught the parade my mistake in September and I'm glad we did as wse had not seen it the last couple of years. You got some great pictures.

party: :welcome: party: Glad you made it over. I knew you would catch up eventually. :cool1:

I had a couple of things I forgot too. There is always NYE right? I just got distracted by other things.

Not my Naveen.
I didn't think he was your Naveen. I did look around for him during the opening show too. :guilty:

I think I need to take video next time. I need to be close enough to a pole with an unobstructed view and do it during a daytime parade. I never seem to get all of the requirements met though. :rolleyes1

I looked at the receipt and it was $4.50 so I think it was more that a reg pretzel.

Thanks. By mistake huh? I have " walked in" on a parade many times. Me Dec Trip withthe girls we seemed to do that a lot. Either great luck or horrible luck depending on how you look at it.

Love your pictures. And that Pricess Tiana is very pretty.

party: :welcome: party: Glad you are here.
Thanks for the compliment and yes that princess is stunning. How she pulls off looking "cool" I have no idea. Of couse she is riding and and not dancing down the street but still she looks great despite the heat.

Love the pretzel. DH & I usually get the cream cheese filled ones at the Lunching Pad.

Great pictures of the parade!!:thumbsup2 What camera do you use??

I saw someone around here post that pretzel so I had to hunt one down. :lmao:

My camera is a canon power shot SX30 IS, 14 Mp and a 35X zoom. I got it for the zoom and good reviews. The mage stab. and the extra weight of the camera actually makes it easier to hole it steady.
MEK put a tip on her TR about playing around with the TV setting and it has helped me take better shots in the dark.

That is the first mickey pretzel I have ever seen! Is that possible? It's so cute, even if it doesn't taste any different.

This is also the first time I have seen the Grand Marshall's car. Cool. I want to ride in that!!!!!

Wonderful parade pictures. They are so clear and so close. Love them!

I noticed that too, and thought their hair was super cute!

Ugh....I can't even begin to think how hot! I always feel bad for the performers, the extras who dance and whatnot. But then I see Beast and I have to wonder if there's some sort of air conditioning contraption in there?

This is something I find really cool too. I think it satisfies my OCD! :rotfl:

I think they are new and are only at the cart in Frontierland. Brook may have posted it. I think it was on the blog too.

I have never seen it since I never seemed to catch the beginning of the parade. I don't know if it is new or not.:confused3

I  my new camera.

I noticed that too, and thought their hair was super cute!
That is what caught my eye- that I liked the style and I guess I wondered how it held up in that heat. Then I realized that all the girls had nice hair and then it dawned on me.... They all have the same hair and it is a wig. :upsidedow

I have heard like the racecar drivers they have a "cool "suit. A suit with tubing and cold water running through it.

I bet there are so many people who don't even notice that once the end of the parade goes by all the stanchions and ropes that took hours to set up are just .... gone.

OK Pat. I have been reading reviews of the Cannon Power Shot SX30. Some say the moving or night shots are not good. Can you show me pics proving otherwise?? I may be buying a new camera when I go shopping Monday..:rolleyes1

Great Parade update Pat !!Like you I haven'y seen a whole day time parade in awhile .Usually catchpart of all of them at least once a trip!!!I don;t like DHS new one !! AK is prolly my favorite !!!
Just a shameless plug I started the joint TR of our Free Trip !!!!

All the pic in low light and the safari were taken with that camera. Compared to the old canon I had, a smaller sure shot, along with playing with some of the settings, blows my old one away.

If you look at the pictures in the Side effect report all those were with the old camera or the waterproof Olympus which actually did better in low light but most of the pictures are grainy or noisy in camera speak.

I saw reviews too that the regular auto mode produced some blurrier shots so they recommend using the portrait mode to help with that.

I am such a crappy photographer. I had a really hard time holding the camera steady while I took the picture. My friends on the NYE trip kept making fun of me since most of pictures were blurry. I think some of that was due to the size. The lighter the camera, the harder it for me to hold it still.

I really like this camera. I stalked it online until I found a great sale. :thumbsup2

Thanks Rosie. I usually don't catch the daytime one either but I was sort of trapped. So I made the best of it.

I did catch the new DHS one. That will be another day. ;)
Ak is prbably my favorite too. SPOILER; I also picked up Magic in the Streets and have been playing it continuously since I got home. It made me love the AK parade even more.

I found you and check in at the TR earlier today. I am working this weekend but since I go to another facility to work the weekend now this weekend is super slow so I was able to catch up a bunch today. ;)
