Not bad considering it was 4 to 8 times a month in the past! Most weeks we do plan a menu and try to use whatever is in the freezer/pantry. We'll even come in under our grocery/food budget by $100 this month.

Nextweek I will go through my cabinets and pick meals from there. I do need to buy some meat

I notice i do better if I shop week by week. If i try shopping for two weeks or the whole month I dont cook it all or some goes to waste. I prefer my vegggies fresh for the week.

Well i just went through my cabinets(cant sleep).

I normally dont buy canned chicken but i bought some to make chicken salad.
What other meals can i make with the remaining 4 cans of chicken???
I was thinking chicken tacos or taquitos. I'm just not used to canned chiken so I feel lost-lol!

I also have 3 cans of canned beef. i usually make shredded beef tacos and I made burritos but what other meals can i make. I prefer the fresh meat over canned.

I also have a 10oz(sm can ) of enchilada sauce. Not enought to make a tray of enchiladas.

I have other stuff to use as sides like veggies, rice o roni, lipton onion soup mix etc, so I just need to buy some meat and veggies. I'm going to try and use what I have on hand first. Tomorrow I will make a list of stuff in the freezer.

oh and I have 2 large boxes of lipton tea bags. I like making sun tea but i heard and read it can be dangerous and make people sick if left out in the sun. How do i make it on the stove? Do i boil the water , add tea bags, let cool completely then fridge or do i put it in hot. will it mater???This will cut down on drink cost

I make tea by heating the water in the microwave until almost boiling, and then steep the tea bags for a few minutes, depending on how strong you like it. I would let it cool slightly before pouring in a pitcher and refrigerating it.

Oh, if you like canned chicken in pasta, you can make some noodle casserole dishes with it such as chicken and noodles with cream of mushroom or something simple like that.

Chicken Packets:
Canned chicken(drained) mix with cream cheese (3 oz per can),1 TBSP milk, and some chives (dried or fresh)if you have them.
This filling can go into crescent rolls-you'll need 2 cans to make 8 servings-just leave 2 crescent rolls together in a rectangle, pinch the perf. seams, place a spoonful of filling and fold over to make a square packet. Pinch outer seams tightly so no filling seeps out. Bake at 350 for 20 min or until browned.

My kids love these!

OK, y'all have inspired me!

Today I made homemade salsa that I am going to use to make Salsa chicken tonight and then as a topping for my scrambled eggs this week.

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS so I am trying to make low carb/good carb and no sugar meals.....Y'all have any suggestions? Making meals without rice or pasta has been a challenge for me!
