Hello all!! I am new to this board. I love to menu plan as it keeps me on budget, which is a must for our family. I even have a post on my blog on Mondays that was Menu Plan Monday. Lately though, I have fallen behind due to 'life' but I know that's just an excuse. I find that when I make our menu, it helps dinner be on the table early & cuts costs in so many ways. It also help eliminate spoilage from our fridge because everything gets used. I am looking to start back up on Monday and stick with it.

Hi and welcome! :) I fall behind time to time on the planning too. Good that we're here!

This week in no particular order:

Beef stew with biscuits

Chicken fajitas with fruit

Breakfast for dinner (either scrambled eggs w/ bacon, orange glazed biscuits and fruit or a french toast bake with fruit)

Hot roast beef and cheddar sandwiches with something

Pizza on Friday

That's the loose plan for the week.

I have to admit I've been lurking on here for many months but haven't posted anything. It's so hard to get eating out under control but I think I may have finally done it. Eating out for January we only spent $105 which is down from around $400-$500 a month! OUCH!!! I have found that if I prepare meals for the freezer once every 2-3 months that's what saves us from eating out during the week. It's so easy just to pull something out of the freezer when you don't have time to cook. Also if I cook alot on the weekends when I have time I have lots of leftovers to use during the first few days of the week! Yeah, I'm learning!!!

Last night we had leftover chili.

Tonight we had crock pot french dips with carrot sticks and applesauce.

The rest will be frozen into meal size portions so we can heat and go. Both boys have lacrosse after school now so I have to have pre-made quick meals.

Where are you getting Dominoes for $4.44? Sounds like a great way for our family to have take-out on the cheap! I know Little Caesars has the $5 Hot and Ready pizzas, but we are not fans of their pizza.

Yesterday was fish fry Friday http://tinkmomfoodie-foodobsession.blogspot.com/2013/02/tilapia-and-hushpuppies.html
Today I am making Chicken Tikka Massala and cauliflower Aloo Gobi. I got some cauliflower on clearance and will probably be making a cauliflower cheese soup.

This week I week I have two late school nights and then I am taking my DD to Chicago for a Lady Gaga concert on Valentines day. I am up in the air if we are spending the day at the Field Museum or the Shedd. I have ressies at the Weber Grill restaurant and signed up for thier e club so I got a $10.00 coupon. I am also thinking of taking her to the Rainforest Cafe. We have to find a place for breakfast but our hotel has a restaurant.

On the 18th I start my internship for Phlebotomy and will have school but at least I will be out of my internship by 3:30 PM and my DH only works one out of the three weeks. I will be able to make dinner for the familia most nights.

Have fun at Gaga! My friend was at the concert last night, in Canada. She said it was amazing.
