I just found out today that I have been elected to host a family gathering on Saturday. I was thinking about a baked ham and mac n cheese as one of the sides. Does anyone have an easy recipe that they just love? Thanks.

My DS loved Cracker barrel mac and cheese so much I had to come on here to find the recipe :lmao: You may find its still here is you search. I can't remember the exact details (Dis-ing at work :guilty:) but the cheese sauce is made with part stock/bouillon and part milk, so its a bit lighter. Basically cook the pasta, mix with the sauce (and you can stir in ham at this point), shove it in a dish, top with more grated cheese and bake :) :goodvibes . You can prepare in advance and cover with cling film until ready to bake if necessary.

Ever try the recipie on the Velveeta Box?

No, I have not tried that but, I do like Velvetta for grilled cheese. Is this your favorite mac n cheese recipe?

What sort of cheese is Velvetta? I've seen it mentioned before

This is my kids favorite & can easily be doubled or more!

Cook elbows in a large pot of boliing & salted water for 8 to 10 minutes or until tender; drain.
Add cheese & next 4 ingredients.
Spoon into a lightly greased 11x7 baking dish; sprinkle with cracker or bread crumbs.

My family really likes this one.

2 1/4 cups hot water
1 pkg KRAFT Deluxe M & C Dinner
1/4 tsp ground pepper (black or red)
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (We like the shredded sharp cheddar)
1 cup sour cream
crushed crackers (about 20)

Preheat oven to 375.

Whisk water, cheese sauce from pouch, and pepper in a 1 1/2 quart casserole. Stir in dry pasta and 1 cup of the cheddar cheese. Cover with lid.

Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.

Uncover and stir in sour cream.

Cover surface with the remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese. Then cover with the crushed crackers.

Bake an additional 10 minutes, uncovered.

Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Makes a lot.
