We are planning a cruise in January and don't know if we should do the eastern or western caribbean cruise during that time of year. Does anyone know which ports have warmer weather? Thanks

I don't know if there is really that much of a temperature difference between the ports that time of year. I think now you can go on DCL's website and look at each port of call and it lists the average temps for each season. I personally like the Eastern. I haven't had a chance to do a Western yet, I would like to some day, just to say I did it, but I like the Eastern b/c it has more at sea days and those are my favorite. :flower:

We took the Eastern in January 2002 and the weather in St. Thomas and St. Martin was perfect. I would say the temperature was in the 80's.

I'm with MNparrothead...we did Eastern in Jan 2004 and had 80s in each port and sea days. High 70s CC day. We could swim each day.

We just did western on RCI and had mid 80s at both Jamaica and Grand Cayman this year, so it may be more of a personal preference. Eastern you have one more day at sea than western. Good luck deciding.
