OH my one of my favorite restaurants is:

The Enchanted Garden, deck two midship is like dining in a beautiful garden in the countryside of France. With warm green pastel paint, pictures of the French countryside in the rear, opening tulip-light fixtures, the experience is calming and wonderful. Even the atrium in the ceiling transforms from twinkling stars at night, blue sky during the day and you can even see the sun set at dusk. Serving American cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it is truly a unique experience. The fountain with Mickey on top under a circular rotunda as you walk in is the centerpiece of the restaurant. Dinner is sit down and buffet lunch and breakfast are served on select days.

Ok and another favorite:

Royal Court restaurant. Located deck 3 midship this eatery is themed after the palaces in the classic Disney movies as Snow White, Beauty and the Beast. You feel as if at any moment, one of the Disney Princesses will make an appearance. On top of the partition walls are beautiful lights patterned after Cinderella’s coach, the chairs, chandeliers, carpets and even the minute details are fashioned after decors seen in these timeless films. The Royal Court serves a French inspired menu, and has the best escargot (My favorite) anywhere. As with the Enchanted Garden, dinner is table service and breakfast and lunch buffets are served on choice cruise days.

And of course... well let's be real they are all my favorite, lol.

Animators Palate. But this “Palate” unlike its namesakes on its three sister ships, is completely unique and amazing. Located on deck 3 aft, it serves American and Oriental inspired menus. But it’s not the food that makes this an amazing place to eat, but the “Magic” Disney has put into it. Modeled after an animator studio, it is full of items you would find in such a studio, but on the walls, you’ll see sketches and pictures of Disney characters and backgrounds from Disney’s memorable films. Here is the magic… as you begin eating, the push-pin boards holding the pictures are actually LCD monitors! Here, Sorcerer Mickey appears (The screens are all around the dining room) and you’ll see Disney Characters dance across the screen, from black and white to color images. And then I won't spoil the surprise but I can't wait to have the popcorn soup! yes popcorn soup! yum!

What I can't wait for is the animators part of animators palate. I have been practicing my special cartoon character :artist:

Thanks for the info about the restaurants, the movies and the dining schedule. Some of the movies also run on the plane taking us across the Big Pond - and we got 'Wreck-It Ralph 3D', 'Finding Nemo 3D', 'The Muppets' and 'The Avengers' on BluRay.

We're especially looking forward to dine at Animator's Palate. I guess for us, with France just a few hours on Autobahn away, the pseudo-French restaurants and cuisine aren't that big an attraction ;)
I'm especially keen on seeing what progress Disney has made in comparison to Animator's Palate on the Magic.
And of course we're very excited to travel on a ship 'Made in Germany' :thumbsup2

Today after work I bought 4lbs of Old Gouda für the Dutch innkeeper on Amelia Island. It was a great experience. I usually don't shop in the town I'm working in, but the shop was recommended by a coworker, who lives near our company.
It was like timetravel, because it is an ancient Mom & Pop-store with an original 50ies interior. They had fresh fruit and veggies on display outside on the sidewalk tended by two elderly gentlemen, one of which opened the door for me, accompanied me inside and then served me very politely. He was delighted to sell me €40 ($54) worth of cheese and gave me advice on how to pack it for air travel. I guess they usually don't sell big chunks of cheese like that.

Oh that would be so wonderful. My son wants to go to Europe for his high school graduation so we are looking into a Mediterranean Disney cruise so we can have the best of both worlds. Uhhhh just the food would be worth the trip!!

As you know, this is a graduation trip for our oldest.
However, our youngest already has his sights set on the Mediterranean Disney cruise for his graduation. That is still 4 and a half years from now though (I hope they have that on their itinerary then )

That is so funny they love it so much they are thinking about that for their graduation gift. My son is a senior now so we don't have to much time for planning. But that's ok with me, less time to wait for the next cruise.

Hey Viking. Hope you will be able to get that wonderful hunk of cheese thru customs here in the U.S. They took my cheese away, saying it was on the forbidden list, since it was dairy and therefore an agricultural product. Good luck to you. It would be a shame if that should happen to you.

I will be on this cruise and am looking to meet up with a nice lady. I am a 34, 6'3" white male with brown hair brown eyes.

Pm me if you wanna chat!!

I wondered this also but I think it's more meat products isn't it? Hopefully it will be fine. I know you can't bring meat because my dh wanted to bring a haggis.

@akf and Mrs S:
I thoroughly checked the website of the US Customs service and they explicitly state that cheese is an admissible item as long as it doesn't contain any meat and is at least as solid as Camenbert. Only liquid cheese is prohibited.
To be on the safe side i made a PDF of that page and stored it on my iPad. Additionally I'll pack a print-out of that page with the cheese and have another one in my travel documents.
I did that after a coworker reported that he had some cheese impounded upon arrival in Denver. But after my last US-trip, when some TSA-people were to stupid to open a TSA-approved lock and busted a $500 suitcase, I'm no longer sure that the officials over there really know their rules and procedures.
It would be a bummer to have $54 worth of cheese thrown away.
