Eastern Caribbean Fantasy Oct. 5, 2013

First, YUM, that looks delicious!!!
Second, are y'all staying at the Polynesian the night before?
We are eating at the Luau the night before. It would be cool to meet up.

Tink,
We are staying at a hotel close to the airport but after the cruise we will be back at Disney. We always stop at the Polynesian for the Pineapple whip and the Tonga Toast. We have gone to the Luau and had a great time, you will too.

Viking
Thank you for the location for the Universal Pineapple dessert! Oh we will have to get that, it sounds Great!

I have made boot covers for Pirate night and made an extra pair but they are a bit small. They would fit over a little ones shoe size 7. Approximately but can work with a little smaller too.

I can bring them for someone to keep.

The sign up for this FE is closed

Tropical Weather Update:

All clear, not a single low pressure system in sight :cool1:

And the forecast for our first week in Florida is very promosing, too :dance3:

Hi everyone!
My son (11) and I will be joining you on this cruise. We just returned home from WDW today and will be turning around in a week and flying back to cruise on October 2nd! We are from Boise, Idaho so it will be a long day.... :faint:

I will have to look up my room number again, but I know it is on deck 2 in an oceanview room. I will love having the daylight and split bath.
We have been to St Martin and St Thomas many times, so we are probably going to wing it or stay around on the ship. We love the Fantasy! We are staying at POFQ for the nights before the cruise but will probably do something different this time since we just returned from WDW, like LEGOLAND. My son is growing up too fast and won't be amused by Legos too much longer :(

(The rest of my family, DH, and 3 older kids will not be able to make it this time, but we are planning to go as a family in March for spring break.)

Welcome Michelle2
:welcome::welcome::welcome::welcome:
We are excited to have another Disney addict in the group.
I will send you an invitation to our group page shortly.
Tink

We had a reform of our spelling rules about ten years ago and 'Tip' is now 'Tipp' ;)
But I have to admit that for at least five years I refused to write it that way before I finally gave up my resistance :joker:

The other Umlauts:
ä=132
Ä=142
ö=148
Ö=153
ü=129
Ü=154
ß=225
Working for an American Company my laptop doesn't have the Umlauts either, because some of our tailored software doesn't work with German keyboards. So I need those ASCII-codes quite frequently.

I live in Mainhattan :laughing:
Show up for the Meet'n'Greet on Embarkation Day on time and you'll surely get some Schnaps. As for the Kinder Schokolade (Kid's Chocolate) it depends on whether the kids will be willing to share with you ;)

:banana: Danke! Looking forward to meeting you and the Schnaps. Hope the kids will share a bite of Kinder Schokolade with our Sassy.

Where can I find the info regarding the weather? I've been trying Weather Network and it barely shows the the temperatures for the next 14 days (funny it is always the same, so I'm guessing it's not working... :scratchin).

I stated it earlier on this thread:
Any weather forecast extending more than three days into the future makes as much sense as using a crystal ball. Of course there are 10day forecasts on weather.com or other sites, but those are not very reliable - especially in an active area like the Caribbean.
If you see them as showing the trend, they're quite OK, but nor for a reliable forecast.
The temps in that area don't change much around this time of the year and so it's not unusual that a long-term forecast shows the same value for several days in a row

The most important weather site for our cruise is this one:
http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

If you have a smart phone, try downloading the Weather Channel app. It is a free App.

Mine gives me maps, forecasts, water temperatures - wind speed - humidity - UV index - radar - feels like - etc (as an options to click as a layer to the map), travel planner, hurricane center, and more. You just pick what location you want weather information for, and pixiedust: there it is.

For Castaway, you can actually enter in Castaway Cay, The Bahamas.

This is our first Disney Cruise. I literally found out about the Fish Extenders over the weekend. Is it too late to join an existing group? Is this forum the only place to join? If it is too late to join a group but we'd still like to participate can my husband and I just leave our daugther's trinkets each day so that she feels as though she's getting to participate? I'm sorry for the long post...this is just very confusing and overwhelming for a first timer.

Thanks Viking and Pixiehallow!

I just wanted a little peek into our weather during the cruise. :blush:

I wish it was October already... ;)

I posted below but maybe I should have posted this way instead. I see that your post says it is too late to participate in the FE groups through this forum. However, there is mention of late comers joining through FB. Can you assist me with that? We just found out about this tradition over the weekend. We're first time cruisers. Thank you!

Hi there-please come across and join the fb group. There is a latecomers group but I am not sure when the cut off date is as I am not organising it. The group is called disney fantasy eastern carribean oct5th 2013. I will watch out and add you.

Can I just ask that other disboards members can please point people in the fb direction if they ask as I do not visit this board very often. It just seems that there is only me who will tell people. I would hate for folk to miss out on the fun because nobody will pass on the details. Or perhaps it could be added to the fe thread about that one being closed?

Just a thought.

Just to add the lady organising it is called Elizebeth Landgraf and the cut off date is a week before we sail. I just checked for you.
