Easter Weekend Demand

I was checking availability around easter weekend and it seems that everything is open, with the exception of BC studios. We’re currently 2 months into the home resort booking period. Is this generally a low demand time for DVC or is it just because we’re still 9 months out?

The October through Marathon weekend are the dates that book at the 11 month mark. The others are pretty open 2 month after the home resort booking period. Around 8 months owners realize the 7 month mark is coming and start booking their dates. The Easter weeks are a fairly moderate DVC demand time, more demand than other times in April but still many things can be open at 7 months out. Nevertheless, you still are unlikely to get BCV studios and other things that usually disappear before 7 months out even during slower times like AKV value and club level, BLT standard view, VGF studios, and BWV standard and boardwalk view studios and 2BRs.

However, even as a moderate time, there can be real issues of timing of the reservation. What I have seen in the past is that things that are usually open can often disappear just before 7 months out if your start date is after Easter Sunday. What happens is that those with Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday start dates during Easter week lose out to those booking 7 months out with Saturday or Easter Sunday start dates. That kind of effect tends not to happen for the week before Easter, but it also occurs for July 4 time when July 2 to 4 can disappear by those booking 7 months out with a late June start date.
