Only one day to visit Universal. I know it's a crazy week in general, but if I only have one day with my kids there (we are in town for other reasons), should I take them on Easter day or the day after (Monday)? Part of me wonders if locals will be busy with family or church on the holiday, and another part of me wonders if many schools are back in session the day after...

I don't have an answer to give you--sorry! I just wanted to say that we're trying to figure out similar questions about Easter. We have a few days before and after to also spend at the parks, but we are trying to choose which day to head to Volcano Bay and are having a hard time figuring out whether Easter will be more or less busy than the other days.

If you can be there right when the parks open, Easter Sunday wouldn't be too bad for a while, though will probably be very busy after 11am. In general people tend to arrive later on Sundays, and Easter often makes that even later. However from what I can tell, that's still right in the middle of the most common Spring Break dates. So if people haven't already left for home on Sunday, they're probably still there for most of the week too. That said, I would still go on Monday, because the number of us locals visiting is usually less no matter what time of year it is.

Wow. Upon re-reading that was confusing, and I wrote it. No wonder people tell me that I over think things.

tl;dr - Monday will have fewer locals visiting, which should mean slightly lower crowds.
