Easter break discounts?

I believe they had discounts every year after 9/11, except last year was blacked out. This year so far it's blacked out, except the difference is that there are a ton of empty rooms. I continue to check my resorts each day and every single room category is available -- BC, Poly, BWI.

yep, the main difference now is that people aren't booking and expecting a discount at some point, like in years past. The prices are silly.

In the past, I didn't even like paying $300 for a std BC room, $400 was pushing it last year at BWI, and $545 this year at BWI? nuh-uh. Whoever is pricing the rooms is delusional.

Totally agree!!!!! I couldn't believe the price of Poly and Contemp just outrageous!!!!!

The one good thing about the crazy prices is that people aren't booking rooms. So it's sort of forcing disney to offer some deals, unless they are content with lots of empty rooms. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of months.

Two years ago we were booked off site and then were able to switch for about the same price. I am really hoping for that this year. Even with a $300 rental car we are still way ahead then if we paid rack rate. Throw in the fact that we can enjoy meals out of the park and save even more money....

But today I checked the park hours, planning on hitting parks that did not have EMH in the morning and it looks like MK will have early hours every morning of break. So staying on will definitely be an advantage...

We usually go Easter, August and November (Jersey Week) due to having APs, and this is always the toughest trip to plan out because of the crazy rack rate prices and not knowing if the rates will drop.

I will be checking in April 8-13 and paying rack rates is making me crazy - lol I have a pin that starts 4/15 and I call daily to see if any Easter discounts will be offered. All they keep telling me is to keep calling back and check the website. Its just not fair - lol:surfweb:

I agree. It will be VERY interesting. I've been stalking the Disney site for WEEKS to see if there are still rooms available, and so far there are still tons available. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

UGH! They keep telling me the exact same thing! And I keep reading into it that they mean something's coming. LOL :rotfl2:

This is why I don't think they can price that way and avoid discounts: people who book offsite probably get a rental car or drive and then eat more meals offsite, I know I do.

They're not just losing the hotel price, they're losing people buying the mugs, the snacks around the hotels, the souveniers in the gift shop, the Disney meals/meal plans. That must make a serious dent in their profits.

meh, I might not even go at all. The lines at Easter are really long. Just. so. many. people.
