Easter Advice

Wilderness01, here's a poll on the CB about when peoples' Spring Breaks are next year: Spring Break Poll

Looks like you have a busy week, but definitely not the busiest.

We did easter week 2 years ago and are doing it again for 2006. It wouldnt be my ideal choice of times but it just is the 3 ds spring break time. Our ds are teens so they refused to get up early and do emh but they did do the nightime emh. We were at the swan. It seemed no matter where we went the busses were always standing room only. Fast passes had actual lines to wait in to get them and the return times on some were like 5 hours later, not good if you are planning to park hop. It did get cool and rainy one day when we were there. I made all the adrs for the places we wanted before we left. We saw people being turned away at hollywood and vine, chef mickey and crystal palace lunch and dinner. The table service restraunts were so crowded with people stalking for tables etc. Our plan for easter day was to have breakfast at cape may buffet. Mickey and Minnie were dressed in their finest, great photo op. We spent most of the day at epcot. We did find that the characters were not as listed, like instead of belle and the beast in france it was esmerelada and frollo. For dinner we hopped over to mgm and went to hollywood and vine. We avoided the mk too on that day. If you plan well you will have a great trip. My dh found it amusing at the mk people were asking us where the monorail went and if you had to pay to take the friendships to epcot. Obviously these poor folks had never been to disney before.

I wonder if there is a website on "How to get the best out of WDW during crowded times"? :earseek:

Tourguidemike.com has great advice on touring during busy times! I highly recommend it.

We went at Easter this year and in 2002.

2002 - First time ever at holidays, even though we had been to WDW several times before I was initially upset by the crowds and the heat! The rest of our group adjusted fairly well but I was pretty disappointed. Add to that a bad experience at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and we didn't get back for three years.

2005 - A convention brought just my husband and I back to WDW and it was so much better. Yes, the crowds were there and yes, it was warm but even though I made only a couple advance dining reservations we had a great time. We did get up early for the MK and we did park hop alot. We relaxed and still got to ride all the new attractions thanks to FastPasses.

I would definitely go back at Easter again; even Christmas maybe.
