Slept in til around 8:30 and, with the weather still causing whale watching to be cancelled, we decided on another day in Boston (not much of a hardship!) We had some breakfast, got showered and dressed then I made my second Old Navy trip in 24 hours to exchange the vest tops for some others and we walked to the Andrew Square T station for the last time this trip. Our first destination today was the Museum of Fine Arts which was included in the Citypass (we’d classed it as an ‘if we have time’ thing to do and it turned out that we did) I have to be honest: On the whole we found it boring… There was the odd interesting exhibit but it just felt a bit too formal for us. Both of us enjoy the art galleries here in Liverpool but this one was definitely more highbrow!

We had a snack in the café of bread, a brownie and juice before getting the T to the Prudential Centre area. Steve was looking for a particular Boston hoodie which we ended up not being able to find but I got some large Moleskine notebooks for my sister as Barnes & Noble had 20% off, plus some more candy as gifts from the Boston store. We also bought a cup of tea, a stuffed pretzel and a red velvet cupcake from Starbucks which we stopped at a bench to eat (I don’t think we were particularly hungry but we’d never seen another Starbucks that sold these items so we made room!) After our little snack we walked to the Church of Christian Science. Neither of us are religious in the least but it was pretty spectacular, and they allow photos!
However, the nearby Mapparium does not so at $8 per person we decided against it. Next stop was Faneuil Hall/Quincy Marketplace. With it being a Saturday the place was packed to the rafters so I just bought a Bill and Ted shirt from Urban Outfitters (for HHN), Steve bought a Kidrobot Futurama figure then we hightailed it out of there. I suppose in the US somewhere like that is a bit unusual but it just felt like an overcrowded UK high street to us, which we tend to avoid when at home! (I realise I’ve been pretty negative about a lot of our activity choices today but we did have a good day, honest!) By now we were hungry enough to dinner so we got the T to tonight’s eatery of choice: The Brown Sugar Café. It’s a Thai place which is a cuisine neither of us had tried before and we really enjoyed it: I had shrimp rolls and mango fried rice and Steve had tofu triangles and vegetarian pad thai. Bill was around $55 including tip (no free refills here and Steve had 3 cokes without realising that which pushed the cost up a bit) and after dinner we got the T back to the hotel and chilled/packed before bed. I also checked in for tomorrow’s flight online and prepaid our luggage charges. Quite sad to be leaving Boston but tomorrow we were flying to Orlando!
