Easily added a watch face to my magicband

I ended taking four magic band/watches on our trip last week. I loved it. I wear the watch face on the top of my wrist with the Mickey on the outside bone. I had no trouble matching Mickey to Mickey. Here are my four bands. View attachment 88374

Those are so cute!!

I never wear anything on my wrists but if I am wearing my band I am forever checking it like it is a watch.

Yes. These were all slapwatches I purchased and removed the watches from.
You are BRILLIANT!!! :earseek:

edit: I just went and bought one of the minnie ones from Amazon! I had never seen these and they look just like the magic sliders...but a watch. Awesome! :jumping1:

Can either of you post some links to the watches you bought, or what to keep an eye out for to make sure the watch slides off the band? Thanks!

I purchased the Minnie one and it fits good on the side of the magic band with the holes. The other side is a tad too wide to slide it up very far. I would prefer it on the other side so I could put magic bandits in the holes, but what can you do :)

The Minnie was glued between the original watch pink band and the Minnie black rubber slider piece, so I had to carefully slide a rounded nail file between to loosen the glue. After I finally got it unattached, it was perfect. I was careful not to rip anything by being too rough.

I do not know if I can link to the site, but google "How to Turn your Magicband into a watch in three easy steps" and you will see a good writeup about it.

Thank you so much!!!

This is a great idea! Last year I constantly found myself looking at my MagicBand expecting it to tell me the time. The only downside I can see is not being able to wear the watch in the pool; I'm sure most of these cheap watches are not waterproof enough to stand being submerged while swimming.

So those watch faces just slide off their original bands, and you just slid them right onto your magic bands? That would be great.

I have been thinking about somehow sticking a watch onto my magic band for the last 3 weeks, because I don't even wear a watch normally, but the last two trips I have had wearing magic bands, I must look at my wrist about thirty times a day to see what time it is, and it drives me nuts. I said back in 2013 that they would have made them with a built in watch. Least they could do is make a few cute watch sliders. Wish I was an inventor and could capitalize on that. Lol

Yeah, basically didn't take mine off during my trips; pool, shower....stayed on the whole time. I would have to remember to take it off.

Agreed. I think we would all get one if it already had a watch on it.

While we are on a topic, can all of us MB people get something down? If you choose to wear it on your left wrist, PLEASE use a scanner ON YOUR LEFT. If you choose to wear it on your right, PLEASE use a scanner ON YOUR RIGHT. And then no one gets blocked, you don't have to turn and twist all funny ways or reach all the way across and people can't get by you. (Mainly for FPs, the entrance scanners are all a bit tricky, although I still try to do my right to the right.)

Lefties on the Left, Righties on the Right...we all win and get to get in....

Yes, they slide right off. The OP had said only the Minnie was glued somewhat. And that's what I found with mine. But it was not too hard to get unstuck. Just took about 5 minutes of being careful. It wasn't really glued the best, more of a dollop of a hard glue. It was not sticky afterwards.
