Earmuffs in June? Update 7/5 Trip Report Link!

That's great that you were able to make those changes, not be charged, and save money! More dining, and more days in Disney! Now that you won't be switching from one place to another during your trip, you can just get to Pop, make it your home and relax! Well, you don't really relax in Disney, but relax as in you don't need to worry about packing, unpacking, spending time moving...

Yay for adding extra days even if it means moving to POP the whole time. I think you will be happy with more time in Disney with the family. Exciting!

Thanks girls! The idea of moving wasn't too appealing. I've heard great things about POP, so I'm not so worried!

Onto the changes! YAHOO!

Originally we were going to leave on June 22 early in the morning.

NOW:

June 21- depart Chicago early afternoon. Drive as far as we can manage.

June 22- drive all day and hopefully get reasonably close. We would like to be within 3-4 hours of WDW

June 23- wake up super early with the hope of entering WDW mid morning! May try to check in, otherwise we'll do so later. Head to EPCOT. We made a 7:00 ADR at Akershus. I'm excited for this one! We are keeping it a secret. The boys may not be thrilled, but Sophie will be!

June 24- DHS, Primetime Cafe ADR, possibly MK in the evening.

June 25- MK Ohana ADR (dinner)

June 26- AK Boma ADR (new!!!)

June 27- EPCOT Garden Grill ADR

June 28- DHS Sci Fi ADR

June 29- EPCOT Le Cellier

June 30- AM mommy/daughter breakfast at Kona, AK, Whispering Canyon ADR

July 1- MK, Pirate's league, Liberty Tree ADR

July 2- ??? Fill in day

July 3- head home

I am glad you added Boma. You will really like it I think.

It looks like we are both in Epcot on the same days. Right now, we are at San Angel Inn when you are at Garden Grill and we are at Garden Grill when you are at Le Cellier. However, I am trying to snag a Garden Grill for the day you are there and a San Angel Inn lunch the next time. Confused, yet :confused3. I am not sure we will want a dinner ressie on the 29th. It is our last night at AKL and I have a feeling we will want to stick around there. I will keep you posted. Are you up for a Dis Meet?

Cool! I went and double checked my ADRs so I could be sure of the times:

6-23 Akershus 6:50 pm
6-24 Primetime 4:00 pm
6-25 Ohana 5:00 pm
6-26 Boma 4:00 pm
6-27 Garden Grill 4:00 pm
6-28 SciFi 11:00 am
6-29 LeCellier 11:50 am
6-30 Kona 7:30 am, Whispering Canyon 5:00 pm
7-1 Pirate's League 9:00 am, Liberty Tree Tavern 11:30 am

And I would definitely be up for a tentative meet! We have so many variables going on with the large group. I'm hoping my inlaws may take the kids a few nights and maybe Scott and I can sneak away to a park. Or definitely if we are going to be in the same area at the same time. I just don't want to hold up a whole group. The best would probably be to exchange cell numbers. Are you going to have email access while there? So many of our evenings are questionable so we could be in the same park more often than my itinerary suggests. I can send you an email sporadically to see if we match up. I would love to meet you if possible!

Sounds like some great changes! POR is nice, but Pop is perfectly okay. Your ADR's look great, too. You've got so many good restaurants planned! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I think POP will be fun. Last time we stayed at ASM and we really liked it. I've heard that generally people enjoy POP more, so I have high hopes! Like I said, we have many more years for mods and deluxes.

Less than 1 month!!!! So exciting! I have 6 days of school left ( not including weekends).

We also just got seasons passes for six flags (about 40 minutes from us). Yes, I know, DISers usually DESPISE six flags, but our family really likes it! I have to say, our park is clean and pretty family oriented. 3 kids areas, great shows, clean, etc. It makes for a nice summer. We're going for the first time this weekend. I'll try to remember to take pictures.

Sophie placed 4th in her tumbling regionals!!! I was so proud of her. We had another LONG drive that gave us another taste of what is to come for Disney. This was only 6 hours. I fear the 18+!

I'm focusing on working out before disney. I have been doing my elliptical faithfully but maintaining my weight due to less than stellar eating. It's time to step it up. While I know I won't have much of a loss in 4 weeks, I hope to drop a few. I plan to start a couch to 5K program as soon as school is out. Every little bit helps!

How great that you get a few extra days in Disney now. My son just LOVED Pop when we stayed there in June 2008. My husband wasn't thrilled that he could open the door while still laying in bed though! :rotfl: Still to me it's just a place to sleep and it was fine...but it did get LOUD at night with kids running around. We stayed in one of the sections with the bowling pins.

Our family enjoys Six Flags actually. We actually have one less than an hour from our house...which really is NOT nice at all...so we drive 2 hours north to go to the one in New Jersey instead whcih is really nice. We may not make it there this year...but I'm thinking maybe we'll get passes to go again next year instead!

Way to go Sophie!

Good luck on the weight loss. I'm right there with you. We are continuing our ritual walking at night but may need to step it up a bit. I know the reason I'm not losing is probably my eating could be better. Going to try to buckle down for these last 3 weeks. We did a 5K walk this weekend to raise money for Celiacs. My DD8 insisted on running a portion of it so we did...but it was mostly walking. We had a decent time of 44 minutes with walking and running. I think our family maybe could get into the running a bit more. We're hoping to keep up the exercise beyond our Disney trip. I can tell already it really has made a huge difference for us doing all of the walking though.

Thanks!!! I think running will be something I can learn to enjoy. I'm going to be working in the office of my school from 6:30 am-9:00 am daily. There is a nice track nearby that I plan to hit 3 days a week. Our neighborhood is just not somewhere I'd feel safe running. The the other 2-3 days I'll do elliptical. Rest on Sundays. Good luck to you, too! Good job on the 5K. Doing a race must feel awesome. Especially for a good cause!

Congratulations Sophie!!! :cheer2: I am sure she was very excited.

I started the couch to 5K last summer but didn't quite finish as I was preparing for surgery. I want to get another 20 pounds off and then try it again. I think I would do much better at with that excess baggage gone! :)

Okay, I changed my dinner ressies again for my summer trip and it looks like we will both be eating at the Garden Grill about the same time. Our ressie is at 4:30 on June 27th.

I saw where you posted on my trip about a group meet but did not have a chance to look at it. Would you rather do that or a quick meet at Garden Grill. You decide!

Let's meet at garden grill! How fun! I don't know if I'll get a chance for many meets, so being at a restaurant is guaranteed!! Yay!

I hope that we can run into each other at Ohana on the 25th since we will be there at the same time. I can't believe that our trips are getting so close! :goodvibes

Yes!!! You and Roundtown Girl! I've never been to Ohana, so I don't know how big it is. Will it be easy to spot each other? I'll be with my MIL who looks just like the mom from everybody loves raymond. :) You have seen my pics from my PTR, so please stop if you see us! Maybe we can exchange cell #s or something.

The dining room is big enough but we should be able to spot each other. My mom will also be with us, but nothing interesting to report there. ;) My husband is half asian and looks like he should be in the military (very short hair-cut). I am sure we will spot each other. :goodvibes

How old are your little ones again? Maybe you have it in your signature. I am SOOOOO excited we are this close!

Stacey,

I think I am losing my mind! I am wrong on my Garden Grill reservation. It is on the 26th. :confused3 I messed with reservations yesterday between this summer trip and making Thanksgiving ones that I had everything confused last night! I do think we are in Epcot again on the same day when you have your lunch at LeCellier. I will post my ressies this weekend once I make sure I have them right!

Erika

I've been getting back into planning and doing fun Disney stuff! I hope my dry spell is over.

1. I ordered my Teva Olowahu sandals. Lots of research later, I hope I found the right shoes for me! I plan on wearing them nonstop until Disney and hopefully getting another pair (perhaps crocs flip flops) if I get a bonus from school.

2. I started filling in my master spreadsheet. So far I have all the parks' hours, parades, and nighttime shows entered.

3. I've started scouring eBay for crocs for the kids. I need to really wait for a hopeful bonus before ordering. Sophie and Finn need them. Their's are too worn at the bottom for safety. My problem is that I'm not sure what size to get Finn. He is almost out of his 8/9s. However, Ethan's old 10/11s are huge on him. I may just wait until I get to Disney to find a pair for him. If I find an excellent deal on an 8/9, I may get that. Sophie wants Mary Janes. I have $17 in paypal and some gymnastics leotards to sell, so maybe I can scrounge up enough to get them even if I don't get my bonus. Otherwise Scott said they will have to use their own money once we get there. Sigh.

4. We started watching the Pirates of the Carribean with the kids on Tuesday. We have gotten through 1 and 2. Sophie made through all of part 1 and about 3/4 of part 2. Ethan and Finn made it through half of 1 and about 1/4 of 2. I really just wanted them to get acquainted with the characters. They also saw some of the fun action scenes. I did fast forward some of the rather violent scenes for Sophie (where bootstrap bill is whipping will in part 2). I did find it funny how I didn't really think twice about the fight scenes, though! :lmao:

Today I plan to enter my itinerary into my spreadsheets. Then when I am done with school (June 3rd!), I plan to read through my passport guide and tour guide mike stuff I had printed. Then it's tackling my shopping list! My goal is to find body glide locally at a store instead of ordering it. That's one thing I'd rather not pay shipping for.

Wow! Your trip is just around the corner, how exciting!!

I ordered a pair of croc flip flops and love them!! Their sizing is hard to figure out if you're not familiar with them.

We bought the body glide stuff at a sporting goods store last year, Academy I think... Be sure to try some place like that!

Your trip is almost here!! :yay:
