EARLY ROLL CALL....September 18, 2005 on Disney's Wonder (4 day cruise)

Hey Amanda! Yep, my DD had a great birthday. All her friends are turning 5 now too, so she's had a blast picking out presents for them. Tonight I found a Jasmine Princess Barbie Doll...it was the last one in the store. Man these things are selling like hotcakes! But, now we have all 6 princess Barbies! Whew! Too funny...tonight my DD asked if we could bring them on the cruise to show the real princesses! ha ha.

No, I haven't done anything about Atlantis in a while...well, except read everyone's comments and experiences on the DCL forum. I expect as time gets closer I'll dbl-ck Atlantis website to be sure they have availability, but other than that, we're just heading over there and a winging it! ha ha. I think we already decided not to book anything in advance because its hurricane season and there is always the risk we won't make it to Nassau. And, of course, if we do dock but the weather is rainy, we'll probably still go over there to check it out, but just won't pay the extra for the room because couldn't use the pools anyway. Does all that sound ok to you? Or do you have any suggestions as to what I should be doing?

BTW, I did call Southwest today and they agreed to refund the $90 as well, but the credit won't show up until after we cruise, so we'll see, I guess.

:hourglass Only 4 more months and we can't wait!! :cool1:  :Pinkbounc

My 'baby' turned 4 on Saturday so this week has been crazy. He had another Thomas the train b-day, he is into trains and cars (loves Mustangs like his Granddad) very unlike my 5-year old (also a BOY) who loves the Disney princesses still! :wizard: They are both very excited for the Cruise (our first ever!) and know they have to wait until Mommy's b-day in September which is after my other son turns 6 in August. I'm hoping to meet some more cruisers with little guys and girls, doesn't seem like we have many posting to our board. Maybe it will pick up as we get closer?
Well, summer is almost here - enjoy!

haha Penny how cute about your DS liking the princesses! That reminds me of when that famous septuplet crew went to WDW and one of the boys was in love with pochontas! He wanted to be Pocahontas for Halloween even. And when he saw her he was speechless! Do you all remember that ?

HI All,
When I was on the Nav. of the Sea, we had a pre meeting on the upper deck by the one of the pool bars before sail away, then that night one of group went around drop off at the rooms, the name tags he made for us, then we had the meeting that the ship set up, with the name tags made it nice to put a face with the nick name.
On the 7 day Disney cruise, we all set up a lunch date on a sea day, I know with this being a short 4 day cruise this may not work out, but just a thought.

Ok I'm off to Disneyland :earsboy: for a few days, OK I have to go to School during the day, but my nights I will be at Disneyland, will check back in this weekend.

I liked the meet on any past DCL cruise I have gone on. I did not feel obligated to hang out with anyone, per se. It was just nice to see someone you "knew" out and about. It sure made it moe enjoyable.

I would be interested in a meet on the boat. Just let me know when. 110 degrees we are lucky if we get to half of that today, we are only supposed to get up to 55 degrees today. Of course this would be are luck it is going to be Memorial Day weekend and pool season starts and it is supposed to be cold and rainy. But two weekends ago we could have easily went swimming but this is normal for here cold and rainy the weekend the pools open.

I have been paying attention more to the current Panama Canal cruise threads than I have here. They are getting me super excited for my cruise. :Pinkbounc

THe PC repo thread is cool huh? I so wish I had booked that cruise. I even called for a price quote the day rates were released and I just couldnt justify spending that much on a avacation!

Here are changes to the Magic in Dry dock, that will be happening in October 2005. I know none of this effects us but it sounds like some pretty cool changes. I think swimming with Stingrays on Castaway Cay sounds like it would be pretty cool.

THIS IS THE BEST
On the upper deck of the ship they are adding a jumbo tron type display so that they can show movies under the stars and also enhance the sailaway parties will be 24 feet wide and I think 15 feet tall.

The conference rooms are being eliminated and replaced with more childrens areas, they will be computer simulations and actually allow the kids to pretend to dock the ship.

On Castaway Cay they are adding swimming with the stingrays

More ships are coming as soon as the exchange rates are better

2007 should see new ports of call mainly from the United States, no plans yet for Hawaii or Foreign Ports.

Think that covers the highlights.

Off to see Don Ducky Williams now.

i agree reanst!sounds great! we did it in grand cayman and it was really neat!!

Is anyone planning on doing any excursions while on the cruise? If so what are you planning on doing?

Becky

I got Disney pins and my DCL Passporter in the mail today. Now I can read about my cruise at work. That is just what I need, now I am really going to get my work done. :rotfl2:

Becky

I too am reading my Passporter. Cool book. This past week I actually changed my air around. Now, we're flying out of KC instead of STL. KC was my first choice as my aunt lives there and we can stay with her and she'll drive us to airport. But, KC was sooo much more expensive than STL that we booked STL at first. But trusty ol SW finally had a deal out of KC so we switched over. I love that you can do that on SW. Woohoo!!! The trip finally feels real now that air is solid!

I plan to buy trip insurance since we're going during hurricane season and all. I'll probably research through insuremytrip.com. Anyone know of a good company listed there that covers weather related issues? I just want to be protected.

Isn't it exciting! :cool1: We just paid off our cruise, so now we just have to put aside money for the tips, hotel, car, and spending money. Almost there! Did we ever decide on a meeting place to say Hi to each other? On my 1st cruise, we wore lanyards (walmart 97cents) with the lime green Mickey head paint chip (from Home Depot) in it with our DISname on it. We also kept our kttw cards in it. Throughout the cruise, we'd run into folks from the DIS. The only problem with tshirts is, you'd only see DISfriends the 1st day (unless you wore the tshirt the entire cruise  ). Any ideas? Almost to the 90 day mark and counting! :bounce:

Hello All,
I have the older Passporter, is the new one a lot better? if so I will order one up, my bother has the older one right now, looking it over for next year maybe.

I had no luck in getting the lime green Mikey heads from Home Depot, all out  may just have to get some ribbon.

Still looking for airfares, I took a bump coming back from Cal. for $200.00 in travel funds, as of now the cost is almost $400.00, It cost us less to fly to Orlando for X-Mas. Hope for a sale soon.

hey everyone! Just back in from the World! Had a wonderful time, saw rain and lots of more rain! LOL I cant believe there is only 3 months until I am back on the Wonder!

Hi All,
I just check my cruise on DCL.com and the status says "Booked" that that mean just booked, or paid for booked, I hope you know what I'm mean.

Also I'm not a big bar fan, and I have not been to the night club/bars on the ship other then for the repeat cruiser's party, are they worth checking out if you don't drink anything harder then diet coke w/lime?

Thanks
Wrench

Not sure, what the case may be for that.

Our airfare and hotel for the night before the cruise is now booked. :cool1: Now just have to book rental car and the Disney world portion. We plan on staying at Disney World for a few days after the cruise.

Becky

Yeah! We have a bit more than 3 months to go! I have to call my TA and pay it off! I dont even know when my balance is due! LOL Slowly but surely we will be there!

Hi guys! If you're a repeat cruiser, I think our 90 day mark is next week for booking spa, Palo, and excursions online. We're still getting our ideas in order. Four women cruising, and its hard to make up our minds :confused3 and we all have the perogative to change them :earboy2: .
Have a great weekend!
Laura
