Ok, here goes my 2nd try at posting! I just posted a long message and hit something and lost it!

We just got back today from a fabulous trip on the Wonder and MK. I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom John. I hope she didn't suffer. Glad to hear her last thoughts were of something magical! I'm sorry we didn't make it to the meet & greet either. Time got away from me too. It was our first plane trip, my daughter was a little croupy when we left and my son started to get sick sun morning. He's asthmatic and we brought his nebulizer, which helped him bounce back real quick.

We left KC on sat 9/17 and went straight from Orlando to Cape Canaveral, stopped at a grocery store, ate a late lunch at Grills (YUM), and checked in at the Ron Jon's Cape Caribe. What a wonderful resort! We spent most of sat afternoon riding the water slides, floating in the lazy river and splashing around in the kiddie pool. The kids had a blast! I truly recommend this resort. It was great! Since it was a condo with a kitchen, we had micro mac & cheese & soup for supper (more pool time!) and waffles/ready to eat bacon for breakfast! It worked out great. WE went to Church Sun morning and made it on the ship by 11:30-noon.

We were kind of glad the itinerary changed, as the kids needed the R&R to get better. They sprung back and were soooo ready for Nassau. When I found out our days had changed, I called Atlantis 800# and they were just great! They graciously changed our $99 Travelzoo reservation date to the next day no add'l charge. Since it was a little overcast and Rita had just passed by, Atlantis was not very busy at all. The kids absolutely loved the underground aquarium tunnels...my son loved seeing all the sharks! The kiddie Ripples pool was on the other side of the big Mayan Pyramid Water Slide, so we took turns watching the kids and riding the Leap of FAith! There were virtually no lines...like 5 people in front of you..no waits at all! The kiddie pool also had 3 slides and the kids loved it! We found the Mickey Pool way too crowded, and this was just what we needed.

Rocket, we must have been near you and amanda on Pirate Night too. We were standing on that edge of the Goofy Pool! My son is sleeping with his sword tonight! ha ha. He loved it.

WE all absolutely loved the shows! My daughter dressed up as Ariel when we were in Tritons, Belle when they had the Belle character greeting, and then as Cinderella Friday morning when we went to MK and had breakfast in the castle. THis was just the best for the kids! I couldn't get over how excited they were over the characters. My daughter got to meet and get autographs from all the princesses and then some. My son just loved meeting Woody & Jessie at MK! He also wanted to tickle Jasmine and Ariel's belly! It was sooo funny! We got to the Poly on Thursday, but it was raining and everyone was tired from the early disembarkation, so we all took good long naps. We ate at Ohana Thursday night and then on Friday we opened and closed MK!

Maybe because of Rita or the rains thursday, I don't know, but lines were fairly short at everything. Most rides were 5-10 minutes, and a few were 20 minutes. DH & I did get a fastpass for Space Mountain, and then took the kids to Astro Orbiter, and by the time we got done were able to walk on Space Mountain. The kids just absolutely loved MK. I can tell we will be going back. What a joy.

I'm just sad to be home, but I guess here's to planning the next one!

PS what happened to everyone for the meet? I thought we had agreed upon 3pm at the Overlook bar on Sunday? I went up, but no one ever showed...????
I had wanted to go but we had such a long day traveling after having to get the kids up at 3am to fly down to Orlando by the time we got onto the ship and did the ressie rush then had lunch we just all crashed in our room until it was time for the safety drill. I felt bad about not making it but it was nice to meet LauraRN and her sister "TommysMom" in line for Palo. I knew she had to be a Diser with her bright green custom tee shirt!

The cruise was so much fun and but definately too short. I felt like I had just gotten the kids into a routine and it was time to come home. Here are two of my DD favorite charachters:

Oh, my! I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I thought of you often, on the trip, actually. We went in to the HRC at Nassau and I thought of you then. Then we passed by the one at Universal and thought of you. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts.

Terry

Okay, I sure wish we had met up with some of you folks! We must have been standing nearby, as well. We were like the ONLY adults dressed as pirates that night (other than the staff and one guy who wore a pirate shirt and ended up on stage during the celebration). If I can figure out how to post a picture, I'll do that.

We LOVED the cruise, had a BLAST. Didn't even mind the rough night so much, except for the fact that the way our room was oriented, instead of rocking side to side all night long, we were rocking head to foot. I woke up with an awful headache the next morning.

I agree with the some of the posts I've seen on the board that said, you've got to experience Nassau once, but I won't do it again. I'll stay on the ship thank you. I hated being accosted by folks. I did have some fun haggling prices in the straw market, but hated being bugged so much and it was SO flippin' hot!

Great pic TBaseler! My DH had the head gear (bandana and eye patch), my son was dressed up as a pirate, and my daughter was Ariel. We just got our digital camera before the cruise so when we have time to figure out how to download the pics and post we will. You may have seen us....my 2 kids and I are red heads.

p.s. Today my daughter got some free time in kindergarten to draw a picture. She drew Mickey & Minnie Mouse! Isn't that cute?

I did notice some red-heads! My eldest daughter is a red-head and I always spot the kids with red hair. We had a red-head boy sit at our dinner table. He celebrated his 12th birthday with us.

Hello All,
I want to THANK YOU ALL so much for the kind words and paryer's.

My brother & I will be going to WDW and maybe a cruise once we get all the things work out with the house and stuff, and if it works out a lot of the Toy Drive Staff will join us in a fairwell tour of WDW for Mom.

As of now I'm still planning on taking the 9-9-06 Western cruise, and Amanda may try to meet you as I get off and you get on.

Terry & Ron, how was the walk to the Hard Rock in Nassau, easy to find ?
Hope so.

So how was the cruise, did the strom cause any trouble?

Will check back, Take Care
John

HRC was very easy to find... once you got past all of the people trying to sell you things on the streets!

The hurricane did raise some fuss with us. They had to change the itinerary. We spent a day at sea the first day (instead of going to Nassau). The boat rocked all night long. One of our dinner mates actually fell out of bed as the seas were very rough and we had 13-20 foot waves. Our room was oriented in such a way that instead of rocking back and forth, we were rocking head to foot. Gave me a headache. When we got to Nassau, we could not dock for most of the morning because of squall lines. The Captain explained that there were high winds and driving rain. So, we sat several miles out looking at Nassau. I think we docked there around 12 or 1. After that the seas calmed down and all was fine.
