!!!! Early Roll Call for January 21 2006 Eastern Magic Cruise !!!!

Just to get it out ahead of time, I am hoping for an Indy vs. Seattle Superbowl.

Hope that doesn't upset too many people.

Since Green Bay is not in, I want two teams that don't usually get there.

So, let's see how bad a day Sunday is going to be.

First day at sea on the Disney Magic :boat: , NFL Playoffs :cheer2: on the Jumbo Tron :3dglasses , sitting in a pool watching them :cool1: , with a Miller Lite in hand :drinking1 .

Boy, this cruise is going to be awful.

Jeff, it would be absolutely appalling!!! Just think!

Jeff I am with you there on the Indy team but I am parcial since I am FROM Indiana :goodvibes I hope they make it they were in the playoffs back in 1996 and I lived in Italy then and watched the game at an ungodly hour (7 hours ahead) and I am NOT a football fan but anything Hoosier I am a HUGE fan:rotfl:

Maybe you'll be able to catch the Indiana vs. Iowa BB game on Tuesday night. I see it starts at 8:00 p.m. EST (that will be 9:00 p.m. on the Ship). The only downside is that Tuesday night is the Pirate Party with fireworks. Not to mention the 6:00 a.m. wakeup for St. Thomas immigration the next morning.

For us Badger fans, Wisconsin plays Penn State on Wednesday night at 9:00 p.m. Ship time.

For those who are just College BB fans, in looking at the schedule while we're at sea, there are no huge top 25 match ups. There are some rivals playing, but in all instances, only 1 teams is ranked.

I hope you both know I was joking. There is NO dress code guidelines in the DCL docs.

As for the shorts, the kids will be fine. There will actually be adults on the formal nights in casual pants and polo shirts. I feel kids in dress shorts and a nice shirt looks dressy. We are putting DS in a Tux :groom: for the formal nights because DW wants some formal family pictures.

Jeff
AAAAAH. I thought you were serious and I had the kids all ready to go out and get new clothes tomorrow.

I'm pushing you overboard......

Thanx for all the well wishes. It has been a fun day today!

Lisa - Chris keeps talking about meeting Liam. He told Katie that Liam has a sister and now Katie is excited, too. Katie is only 5, but acts about 13!! :rotfl2: Is Kyleigh in 1st or 2nd grade? Chris is in 1st and Katie is in kindergarten.

Yes, I am one of the folks that posted the Magic pics in dry dock. The day she left we heard the horn toot the tune - just a few bars, not the whole thing. I got goose bumps. Can'e wait to hear it for real when we leave!!!

We are flying into Orlando around 6:00pm and visiting my cousin and her kids that evening. We still haven't reserved a hotel for the night....do ya think that is a problem??? :scared1: We can always crash on the sofas at my cousin's, but I think we need a little better night's sleep.

My DS will be in shorts at least a few nights. Speaking of that....need to work on DD's wardrobe for the cruise.

DH is hoping for good football viewing - hope we are all up by the jumbotron!

Rachel - good for you!

Kyleigh is in 2nd grade and Liam is in preschool since he just turned 5 ten days ago. Kyleigh wants to write to someone too now that Liam heard back from Chris! I'l have her write to Katie too. Any other 7-8 year olds out there who want to correspond? :flower:

Some how I don't think finding a hotel room in Orlando will be a problem!

I'm glad DH took us out to dinner tonight or I might have still been reworking the boys' clothing (JEFF!). Even my mom called to leave a message and tell me that he wasn't serious.

Becky - that's fun about your daughter and the shirts for pirate night. I will look forward to seeing the final product!

Football - we, being from the DC area, do hope that the Redskins do well tomorrow. But I'm not counting on it! :worried:

And as for a get together in our cabin, looks like we won't be getting one on the schedule past the sail away party. But you are welcome to come by and visit us!

Crystal,

Just so you know, the Magical Extra hour for MGM is in the Morning. That means the park will open at 8:00 that morning. We will be just getting off the boat at that time. Depending on how you are getting to WDW, you may not get to the park until 10.

BTW, we are staying at PO-Riverside on the back end of the cruise. We plan on going to AK and then MK on the 28th. We have 3 days left on our old tickets. On Sunday, we don't know if we'll go to the parks or not. That is why we chose POR. They have a twistier slide at the pool for DS (hope it is warm enough to swim) and their playground is bigger.

We are staying at POFQ on the front end for 2 nights. DW loves that resort. It is small and easy to get around. Plus the bus is better there than at POR. I figured that by the time we get to the hotel on the 28th, the mass of people will already be out of the hotel and in the parks so the buses will be empty.

And if you can't figure out who I am, I'll be the one with the really well-dressed kids! :rotfl2:

And to think that I had just commented on how helpful and great you all have been! He he.

Shorts it is. Phew.....

Well darn I was so excited I didn't check farther down on WDW website to see if it was morning or night extra:confused: duh :rotfl2: So thank goodness you said something or I would have dragged my kids to MGM when they wanted to do MK and they would have been very upset with me:scared1: So now I guess they will get their wish and we will go to MK on that Saturday:earsboy: I think when we get there on Friday we are just going to do DTD and Disney Quest more than likely and just take it easy since we will have to get up at 3 am that day:scared1:

Jeff - I thought you were serious too but we were wearing shorts anyway!

I did put "just kidding" in the original post.

I feel bad now. Good thing I reposted.

Sorry.

If you are going to join Lisa and throw me overboard, let me describe myself. I'm about 5 feet tall, usually wear red shorts, a white shirt and a black jacket. Oh, and you can't miss my big ears. You will see me all over the ship. :rotfl2:

Jeff

Jeff you are too funny! :rotfl: I can't wait to meet you and your family in person.

Lisa,

Didn't you get the info packet on the dress code?

Here is what DCL says:

"...Children who will be attending dinner in the three main dining rooms are required to dress appropriately. Boys should be in long trousers with button down shirts. On formal nights, boys are required to wear ties."

Better make room in the suitcase.

Just kidding. :rotfl2:
See I thought the "just kidding" part was referring to the suitcase! :)

But I'll forgive you.... I have a feeling that you and my DH will get along just fine....

This is so totally off the subject, but I discovered we had no luggage...not good. After our previous pieces had been beaten up through our travels, I forgot we had given them the heav-ho. So, I skampered off to Penney's today and found the bargain of a lifetime. Jim may not be happy cuz its...shhhh...floral tapestry...shhh. He will just have to get over it. I received 6 pieces (that I will actually use) for $112 american dollars! The original price was $250. You don't think there is a mark-up on luggage do you? Okay now that I have bored you, you can go on to the next thread. :rotfl:Just had to share.

Jeff - I even posted on the main web site and asked about dress codes. Lisa and I owe you one when you least expect it!

My big news todaay is that I'm CANCER-FREE!!!
We were thrilled to hear this.

You will see us on the cruise with our Livestrong bracelets (all 3 of us) and my breast cancer awareness bracelet (in addition to our new lime-green ones). Cancer has touched our family and we do what we can to help find a cure by donating to the different research funds.

We can't wait to meet you!!!!
