Early Roll Call for 10-31-04 Happy Halloween Cruise aboard the Wonder !!

Hi, can I join this list too? My name is Jennifer and my husband and my 20 month old son will be taking our first cruise this Halloween. I am so excited, but a little nervous on how my son will be. But I am sure we will have a fun time. So do any of you veterns have any tips for us newbies? Thanks, I am off to read the 300 messages and hope to get to know everyone a bit better.

Hello Jennifer and wellcome to the boards! this will be our first cruise so i wont be very much there, but there are some very informative people in this forum!!

Kellie: as to your question about drinking, my MIL doesn't drink and with the prices of the drinks on the cruise, I could buy myself a small island  However, I can't pass up the drink of the day and my DD will probably spend all her spending money on smoothies. You have to go tropical when you are on a cruise :teeth:

Jennifer: Welcome to the group!! You are more than welcome to join our TOT. Just send everyones names in your group to me, as well as your stateoom #. Our TOT is now meeting between 2:30-2:45 on our sailaway day at mid-ship elevators deck 5. Bags will be provided and door signs as well. My email is marley@nc.rr.com.

This is our second cruise and I'm sure your 20 month old will love it. Our kids were just 3 and 5 on our last cruise and we just took it slow, took naps, and went to bed after the big shows. The first night they didn't even make it through the first show. They were too tired but we had a great time anyways. Very magical :)

Welcome Jennifer! This is going to be great!

We were in Va Beach celebrating both of my DS birthdays yesterday and when we were driving home through the tunnel, a Celebrity cruise ship was heading out to Bermuda! I nearly choked, as I wasn't expecting it. My boys thought it was soooo cool, especially when I told them that the Wonder is bigger! We will be heading to Norfolk in a little over a week to see the Wonder in dry dock. Does anyone know where the Wonder is right now? With this hurricane, I imagine it didn't even go out.

While we were in Va Beach yesterday, we were certainly getting some of the waves from Jeanne. The boys were enjoying it, however, I couldn't stop thinking of all those people down there.

Well, I am off to read some more of the boards. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning gang:

welcome to our newest member Jbaby !! happy to have you here!! the October Newsletter is finished. It had been 13 MB in size and of course that was understandably a problem for a number of people. I tried to create a free website and post it there but all of the hosting sites I could find had a limit of 5MB per file upload. I tried six or seven different web servers, with the same size restrictions. so in the end, I had no choice but to remove much of the music. I left one song on the opening page, a catchy carribean tune you will all recognize I am sure. anyway, the file is now down to 8 MB. still somewhat large but nearly half the size it was. Please let me know if any of you will have a problem with this email size. I want to make sure we all get this. It will go out on Friday 10-01-04. there are 33 days remaining.

your docs are here already! very exciting. I called and asked member services at dvc (a few months ago) and they said 3 weeks ! we should all have our docs soon !!

welcome aboard jbaby13.

Thanks again acrucifer and marley. Congrats on being the first one who let us know that you got your documents. I know that when you have them in your hand the cruise seems so much more real and even more exciting.

Thank you so much everyone for the very warm welcome! My DS will be too little to trick or treat, but I would love to hand out candy to the kids. Is everyone planning on dressing up? Right now we are trying to figure out what we want to be. Either Peter Pan, Hook and Tinker Bell or Queen of Hearts, Ace of Spade and the White Rabbit. Thanks again everyone I can't wait!

Jen

PS - Is it too late for me to get on the newsletter list?

Welcome jbaby. I 'm new to cruising, but I know we're gonna have a great time. We have a wonderful group here.::yes::

I called the DCL to get my reservation. Going to FLA is perfect. We arrive @ 1101. But I'm worried about getting home. They booked my flight to leave MCO at 1205.:worried: Is that gonna give us enough time to get there?:worried: Oh well I'm calling the DCL back to check with them. But if I miss my flight I guess I'll visit my aunt.;) None of my crew has to go back to work or anything.

I also called the airlines to get my seats for the plane rides. Boy. it was a good thing I did! They had my 3 yr old DGS sitting by himself both ways:earseek: . It's all fixed now ::yes:: so Nona can relax  LOL

Am looking forward to reading the newsletter.
:hyper: Thanks in advance,Ralph, for all your hard work.::yes:: And to you too Marley for all your organization::yes:: :teeth: You guys are the greatest!:worship:

Betty:

You will have PLENTY of time!! The very latest you can get off the boat is 9 a.m. Even if you were the last off the boat, it takes maximum of an hour to get to the airport so that still leaves you plenty of time. Customs takes all of 10 or 15 minutes as long as you are a U.S. citizen and don't buy a lot during the cruise.

I would say a 12:05 flight is perfect!!!

Hi all.

We just found this forum today, how great!! We'll be with you on Halloween.

We've got 2 kids, our son - 9 and daughter - almost 4. Just today, our son asked if we could reschedule our cruise because he doesn't want to miss TOTing. We're hoping it's not too late to sign up to participate in the TOT. One of us can take kids around and the other can hand out candy from our room.

I'm going to go back and read some of the posts to try and catch up but would someone mind giving us a summary of what we need to do?

We're excited!! We did a 4-day on the Wonder the year before last sans kids and think they both will love being along with us.
