Early morning Cape May - how do I get there?

I made a b'fast ADR on our Epcot day. Problem is it is for 7:45am. Epcot opens at 9am so I figured we'd eat and then go to Epcot by boat or walk.
BUT how do I get TO the restaurant that early in the morning?? We are staying at the Poly.

we took a cab on the last trip from AKL. it was just the easiest, fastest and least hassle at that time in the morning.

how do you get a cab? do you schedule it the night before? how much does it cost?
DH will not be thrilled with that idea and will probably just rather change the ressie.

Unless DHS has EMH in the morning that day, I see no other way to get there without a cab.

This would be SUPER annoying (for me), but I suppose you could go to whatever park has EMH that morning, THEN take transportation to YC. It would be a lot of travel time... but would avoid taking a cab.

Exactly what we did. By that point in our trip, we were too tired to do it any other way. ;) I think it cost us about $16 from AKL.

you can ask the bellman in advance but we just went downstairs and he called one. It was there within 10 minutes.

The cab was so worth it!!! because after breakfast we just walked into Epcot. I loved it so much that I have booked our next trip to stay at the Beach Club!

I dont understand eating breakfast at a far away resort?:confused3

I'd do a quick breakfast and character lunch in the parks(if that is the reason for this meal)

the cab is worth it.... so much less aggrevation. it will be less than $20. from kidani village to the yacht club was $16.

I'm guessing the op is different than you or me. ;)

Perhaps they have heard Cape May offers outstanding character interaction (food is average). Also they may not like to take a lot of time out of their midday to have a ts meal while in the parks and would rather go cs and run some more. Also, Cape May is convenient for them if they want to go to Epcot.

To the OP, I would just go ahead and take the cab from the Poly to Cape May. The $12 or so will be well worth it compared to the extra time it will take to get there via buses.

Don't rely on this possibility - in the morning hours, bus transportation from parks back to resorts is mostly non-existent.

One possibility that used to exist is that in the same way that early-morning Magic Kingdom buses also doubled as character breakfast buses along the monorail loop, Studios buses would also drop off at Beach Club for Cape May. I haven't heard this mentioned in awhile, so it may no longer be the case.

The experts on the Transportation board will be up to date on all this stuff, though. If you don't want to take a cab, you might want to ask over there.

We've taken cabs from our resorts before and my husband has always either called the bell services line or front desk and they can call the cab for you. We have ADR's for breakfast at Cape May ourselves in September and we are also staying at the Polynesian. I read somewhere that it should run between $10-15 for the trip from the Poly to the BC.

I think our cab from Contemporary to Beach Club was $18. We often take cabs if we are going to drink wine at dinner. The longest we have ever waited for a cab was at the Boardwalk one night; it was about 5 minutes. Otherwise, there are cabs available immediately or within just a minute.

DHS buses will probably be running that early but that's still such a long haul to get from DHS to BC. For the time factor alone, I'd take the cab.

We have taken a cab from the YC to the MK for early morning ADR's. We just go down to the bus stop at the hotel and there are always a few cabs waiting there. We just walk over and ask them if they are available and have never had a problem. We plan to do this on our next trip in August. The cost was about $16, and I think we tipped the driver about $3 or $4 - so it was about $20 altogether.

For us $20 is well worth the extra hour of sleep in the morning!

I'm sure there will be some bus service if you are completely against a cab. You could try DHS or even DTD, from DHS you could take the boat or walk to the BC and from DTD you would have to take another bus. Ask for the easiest route at the concierge desk the night before, I'm sure they will know the best way!

BTW we LOVED Cape May Cafe for breakfast! The food was fresh and hot, with a good variety. The characters were GREAT!! They didn't rush and spent lots of time with us. We were celebrating our DD's birthday and the waitress brought out a card signed by all the characters and a cupcake with a candle. She got everyones attention and had the entire restaurant sing Happy Birthday to her! The characters not only posed with our DD but made sure to interact with DH and myself. Minnie was flirting with DH and Donald quacked at me! LOL:lovestruc

I've been in this situation many times, there will be a bus that you can take to early morning character breakfasts. Every time I have had a resort character breakfast the bus driver has asked me where are you headed and they have just dropped us off there. Don't fret and don't change your breakfast time if you don't have to

I see nothing wrong with eating breakfat at a far away resort! My sister and I are staying at WL in August and we are having a 7:30 am breakfast at Kona at the Poly. Sometimes it's just a matter of timing and logistics and because we really want to eat somewhere specific and not just a quick breakfast at the food court. It just happens that because of plans on other days, we could only eat breakfast at Kona on a certain day and it's the day that we are taking the Keys to the Kingdom tour at 9:30! I'm all about the food and I'll wake up at the crack of dawn to take a taxi or hitch a ride or walk to get my Tonga Toast!

I've heard its a fun breakfast and my son won't go near any characters except Mickey, Minnie and Donald so I thought I'd get him as many of those as I could. I go to other resorts for restaurants, why would this be different? Is it not a good choice? We don't like to do big lunches - mostly just breakfasts and dinners and we like to be up and out early so I thought this was a good choice since we are going to Epcot afterwards.

we will just take the cab if it means losing a good hour or so sleep any other way, LOL!!!

DTD won't work at breakfast time, though. No service in either direction at breakfast time.

I wish this were the case, but often it is not. You've likely already had the best options mentioned in this thread, but if there's something especially clever that I haven't thought of, the folks on Transportation will know it.

On Vacation-I'd hate to wake up so early-I guess 6:45 wake to get cab at 7:15ish? That is just me;)

The OP is traveling a bigger distancefrom MK area to Epcot area & very early

In your case=both hotels are close by. You take the boat to the Contemporary then hop on the monorail to the Poly-quick.:)
