UPDATE: GROUP IS FULL! THANKS!
I am starting a PhotoPass share for early-mid August 2008 DLR park visitors. I am looking for no more than 6 people who are committed to be in the sharing group.
You must be travelling within DLR (not WDW etc..) between August 1 -20. (Meaning people in this sharing group must be starting their trip no earlier than August 1st and ENDING their trip by August 20.)
While the cost to pre-order a CD from Disney is $99 (pre-ordered price) plus tax and shipping, we might be able to get the cd for as low as $79. Currently, if the photopass cards are only used at DLR, you can get this rate following the trip. We can wait to see about pre-ordering, to see if the $79 rate is still available. Regardless, it will be in that range plus we also need to add in the cost of mailers, postage, media, and case (about $5 or so). All the members split the cost evenly (a little more for those who chose to pay with PayPal.)
Please read....even if you are familiar with PhotoPass sharing. I have added information to this section:Here is how a photopass share works (copied from many people on the Dis and tweaked by me)
1) Get a photopass card from a Photopass photographer when they take your pictures at DL and DCA. Have fun and have lots of Photopass photographers take your picture. As many as you can! Each photographer will scan your photopass card to add photos to your photopass card id number. You can have multiple photopass cards, but it is easiest if you limit your photos to just on or two cards (especially for our photopass share.)
2) When you get home, rather than create your own Photopass account on the Disney Photopass website, you will use a photopass account that is already created by ME (because I will have (pre) ordered the cd.) **DO NOT create your own photopass account! If you do, you will not be included in the group account that I have set up. I will create a login for the group at the Disney photo pass website in which you will use to add your ID number to this group. After adding your photos you can edit them on the Disney site in any way that you like. The original image will be on the cd as well as the modified image. Once everyone in the group has added their photos and edited their pictures (we will establish a final date), I will have the CD of pictures made and sent to me. *Remember* Do not create your own account! If you do, it will not be included on the CD that has been bought for our group. If you create your own account, you will be responsible for the cost of your CD in full and there will be no refunds on your share amount. Disney will not allow you to add your images to the shared photo pass account.
3) If at all possible I will edit the CD’s so that each party only has their own images. My ability to do this will depend on the total amount of images on the cd. If this proves to be difficult you must be OK with strangers having copies of your images. You can then take this CD to any photo place (ie Walgreens, CVS, etc.) and get your photos developed as you wish because Disney sends a copyright release with the CD. We will try and make an order of when people enter their photopass codes into the joint account, in the hopes it will keep groups together as much as possible. (Adding borders later on will not mix-up the pics, the crucial timing is when you actually upload your original photos).
4) With 5 people sharing in buying one CD, the cost should only be around $25 each before tax. Obviously the cost will decrease with more members in a group, and if we are able to get the $79 rate instead! However, I will limit it to 6 people to make this whole sharing process more manageable.
5) There is no limit to how many pictures you can take. If a group has enough pictures to fill more than one CD, Disney will send as many additional CD's as it takes at no extra charge.
6) I can accept personal checks or USPS money orders to cover your cost of the Photoshare. I am also fine with using Paypal, BUT would have to pass the minimal PayPal fees on to those who chose to pay in this fashion. (I believe it is 2.9% of the transaction amount plus a 30 cent transaction fee, but will double check.) We can work out the payment once we have our committed group all set.
7) To make it fair to everyone joining, your payment will be nonrefundable once sent to me, so if your trip plans change, I cannot offer you a refund unless you are able to find someone else to fill your spot (in which case they pay you, not me.)
IMPORTANT: From the time the first photo is uploaded from the photopass card you must claim that photo on the Disney photopass website within 30 days. So everybody needs to get their photopass IDs added to the account as soon as possible upon their return. The sooner the better, so that everyone can get their CDs ASAP. So once we set due dates, please stick to them.
Any questions...just post below.
Looking forward to creating our group! Be sure to bookmark this thread, so you keep "in the know."
Cheers,
Danielle

Also, if easier, we can discuss you sending me a blank cd-rom in a prepaid envelope if that would be easier for you. We can talk logistics once we have a committed group!
