Early June Crowds?

how bad are the crowds the first week of June? I'm thinking about a late spring or early summer trip. But, I'd like to avoid hot weather and heavy crowds - a tall order!

Thoughts? Tips?

We're going the first two weeks in June and the crowd level is an 8 the whole time so very busy. Hot and crowded not what you're looking for. In theory we try to have down time during the day but we go with how everyone feels. Tips I bring cooling cloths, crushable disposable ice packs, try not to carry extra bags ect, make ADR's for early dinners to get out of the heat and sun and grab ice water from the QS places to stay hydrated. Even bring flavor packets(lemonade ect) so it's not just plain water for the kiddo or husband.

I thought June would be busy all month. I think my opportunity for a trip this year is just about gone.

Thanks for the help!

We did May 31 to June 7 last year and it wasnt as bad as I expected, and we did parks based upon ADR and not on recommended parks. HS was bad due to SWW, AK wasnt ever bad, and MK got pretty busy late morning until Wishes, then got very light. Epcot was surprisingly busy early for us, but we snagged a walk up patio table at Rose and Crown at 730 to 8 for illuminations so it seemed to thin out as the day drug on. I never checked what levels the parks were, but guessing at least 6 or 7, with likely 8 or 9 Friday and Saturday.

7DMT was never below 80 or 90 min and A & E was 3 to 5 hours, but nearly all other MK was never above 60 for us.

HS headliners generally 90 min or more, but ToT was frequently under 1 hour.

EPCOT was packed as I mentioned early, but we had FP two different days, and did half days only, so didnt really watch SB times, plus did single rider at TT a few times. I do think TT was 45 to 90, and Soarin was always 1 to 2 hours.

AK we did safari FP and EE we didnt need it due to 20 min SB plus single rider.

Edit: Should mention despite SWW, ST was never above 30, my son and i rode it 7 times, usually in a 10 minute queue.

Did you head to the safari ride as soon as you got there? I currently have a fp for this but am considering changing it and heading there at rope drop.

We had Dinosaur, EE, and Safari as FP. we spent time in dino area for the kids and did the wirl ride plus the dumbo one with dinosaurs, then did a few shows, ate the bbq QS place that is closed atm, and did EE multiple times. We did a very leasurly pace all day due to light crowds there.

Thanks for the details! I looked on several crowd predicter sites and they all (but one) said crowds would be high. With little ones, I'd prefer lighter crowds but it sounds like you guys still got a lot done!

Thanks again!!

Go for recommended park of the day and that should help some. As i said we did based upon ADR so we likely hit heavier crowds but we had a good plan in place which helped.

We always go the first of June and we do not find the crowds to be that bad. Yes, it is hot, but we are from Alabama, so it's hot at home too! We hit the parks early, go back to the resort around lunchtime and hang out at the pool until early evening, before heading back to a park. We have always been able to ride every ride we want, and we do not wait in lines longer than 30 min.

Ditto, we always go first week of June and the crowds can be bad but not as bad as they get as the summer wears on. Our touring plan is the same as yours too Allie. We usually go to the park until early afternoon, take a resort break and return later for some evening and late night fun :goodvibes.

Ugh all this talk of crowds is worrying me. We have gone in oct or nov for our last 2 trips, but my son and I are going 6/6-6/10. I thought we'd beat the summer crowds but it doesn't sound like that's the case. ugh

That's the same time we are looking at going, or even the week after. I've been trying to look at wait times for the parks on days that are rated the same crowd-wise and they sure seem high.

First week of June is still in that sweet spot during which many schools are not yet out for summer. We really like going late May and early June. Sure, it will be hot... but what else is new?

We will be there the first week of June this year. I am planning on a break in the afternoons and hitting the parks early and late. It will be hot, but the mornings and evenings will be more manageable.

We will be there June 5-12 and I am following the same plan.....early to the parks, afternoon break and back out for dinner reservations and maybe an evening visit to a park. All is going to depend on my granddaughter who will be turning 3 while we are there. I am less than thrilled with going in June(would rather october!) but my son wanted to go for her birthday so June it is! I went in 2012 right before easter and worried about the crowds then but it wasnt near as bad as I thought it would be and we managed.
