We are going on the Disney Dream in September just wanting to get everyone's opinion on what time the boat arrives back at shore. Will I have time to make a 10:40 flight if I have limo service(backstage limo) arranged to pick us up from port? Party of 13 so I do not want to miss our fight.

Disney recommends flights after 12:30pm.

That said, you would probably make a 10:40 flight, assuming that nothing goes wrong. Best case, you would get to the airport around 8:30 am.

If there is an issue with customs or a mechanical problem or traffic or a problem with the limo, you would be cutting it really close.

It would just be really nice not to have to wait 5+ hours with small children in the airport :(

It will be tight. First Check with your airlaine and see how if there is a cut off time to check your bags.
They usually start letting people off the ship at 7:30am. This is if everything goes smooth with customs.
It could take 30 min to get your bags, get through customs and meet up with your driver. So you are looking a 8am departure time. It's about a 45 minute drive from the Port to the airport. So a 9am check in time then you will still need to getr through security and to your gate.
If everything lines up correctly it could work but way too close for me and waaay to much stress for the last day of vacation.

I think you're cutting it way too close. I've never had a quick trip through security at MCO. It's always been very, very slow moving and long lines. 11:00am flights are borderline too early. Anything earlier than that would be out of my comfort range.

Do you really want to be stressing about making your flight with a party of 13? Or having to rebook flights for that large of a party? I wouldn't risk it.

If you're willing to do laundry on your cruise, traveling with only carry-on luggage will save you some time. Children's clothes don't take up much room!

For MCO/Port Canaveral DCL recommends 11:30am. I can tell you based on my experience and looking at a flight 5 hours later and the fact we fly with SWA 95% of the time to/from MCO I'd take the gamble on the earlier flight. For 12/24/15 we had an 11:05 flight I believe and it was the earliest we've had and we were fine but we also didn't experience any delays. We always have main dining so ate in the MDR which honestly doesn't take very long and then left the ship by 7:45-8:00am and were easily at the airport by 9am and took DCL transfers. That would still give you 1 hour and 40 minutes. If you wanted to save time you could eat breakfast in Cabanas and do express walk off and you might gain another 30 minutes that way.

I've done MCO from Port Canaveral at least 9 times now and have never had any issues but I know they *can* happen. I try and get near the 12noon timeframe but again we've always arrived NLT 9am to MCO and because SWA is really flexible I don't tend to worry like I normally would :)

Possibly. It might be easy for 2 adults or even a family of 4 with older kids who are seasoned travelers. A party of 13 including little ones? Way too many variables and so much could go wrong. I'd prefer to play it safe, take my time exiting the ship, arrive at MCO maybe 10:00am or so. Take your time shopping and eat lunch. Then it'll be time to check-in for your flight.

Enjoy your cruise!

As others have said, that's cutting it close. On the other hand, our flight wasn't until 3:20 PM and that was way too late! We got to the airport around 10:30 AM and had to wait five hours until our plane boarded.

Just off the Magic and someone on board said they had a 8am flight? LOL

Not sure what they were thinking!

what is the latest time that you can get off of the ship?

I always take a 12:05 flight. There is always a 10:30 flight I could take and we always pass it going to the gate and I always think we had plenty of time to make that flight. But I never would book it.
