Does IOA or US have early entry for folks staying at the resort? If so, anyone know how much earlier they open?

No, they have something better - fotl. Universal resort guests bypass the regular lines at almost all rides and attractions.

They do offer an early entry but it is connected to booking a package.

Years ago they offered early entry for resort guests. Maybe they will bring it back someday. Like hannahouse said with FOTL it really is not necessary.

I've seen early entry be as little as 20 minutes before they opened the park to everyone. Usually the promo is for only one attraction like the Mummy or Shrek. To get in you need to bring your "invitation" letter and go to the turnstiles to the far right.

On really busy days, they open at 08:45am, and in the summer, they can open as early as 08:30am, but they'll never officially announce it. You just need to be standing there at the front of the gate. That's early entry to me. I go in first, and get my front seat ride on Hulk, back row ride, Spiderman, Dr. Doom, then high tail it to Deuling Dragons all before 9am. I'm serious, on days when the park has opened early like that, I've done Marvel Island before 9am.

By staying on site and getting FOTL, there is no need to get up early and rush through things.
