Are multi-day ticket holders eligible for early entry?

I've read your Early Entry info, however I've heard a few different things. You can get early entry with a 2-day Multiday pass? I knew this is what they did last year, but I thought it was over and just Resort guests got it now?
Also, if I purchase a 2-day pass through AAA, that will get us Early Entry? Do they check for AAA on the multiday pass? Thank you for any and all help!! We would like to stay at a Universal On-site hotel, however they are all booked, and with the short hours in June, we're going to need all the time we can get.

I called Universal and was told that my 3 day pass would enable us to use early entry even though we were not staying onsite.
