We are staying onsite in July. The parks appear to open every day at 8:00 AM. Since we are staying onsite, does that mean early entry to Harry Potter is at 7AM???

Yep, to be safe be at the gates around 6:30 to 6:40. :thumbsup2

We will be onsite at the end of July but doubt I will be able to get the kids moving for a 7am start.
How soon does the line at FJ start to get unreasonable i.e 45 minutes plus? What would it be like if we got in there just before the gates opened to the public at 8:00?

If you waited till just before 8A there is a good chance that the gate will have opened to the public prior to 8A and you would likely have a mess at that time.

The early entry is great but you really need to use it at open for that area.

If you get there and find the lines unbearable leave and return again just before park closing.

Hi there

My sister and I will be staying at RPH for four days starting on Saturday. :cool1:

Is it necessary to get to WWoHP at early entry since on site guests get the special front of the line pass? I am SO not a morning person!

There is no express for Forbidden Journey and also for the show at Olivanders. These 2 have the longest lines.

IF you want to see WWoHP with the least crowds and lines and are staying onsite, getting there for Early Entry is your best bet.For a 7am EMH, be at the gates for 630am.They let guests into IOA about 15-20 mins before.Forbidden Journey and Ollivanders DO NOT TAKE EXPRESS PASS..They are also the BIG draws in Harry Potter.DO Olivanders FIRST if it appeals to you, they only let 20 people in the shop at a time and the line builds fast.Forbidden Journey lines move faster, and the castle queue is part of the draw.If you wait till 0800, you will be entering with the mass hordes (who they start letting in about 15 mins before 8am).Your other option is to save WWoHP till the evening or end of day.The problem with that is that 1) it isn't guaranteed that the lines will go down -though they often do and 2) If they close early for press events, special events etc..you may be out of luck .

you receive good advice from jessicaR and Rmulieri !

if you do oversleep and hit the parks once the general crowd goes in, you could hit parry hotter in the last hour the park is opened.
it can thin out in that section at the end of the park day.
try it then.

do try to use one morning of your stay for the early entry.
not every hotel guest uses it so the crowds aren't really there that first hour.

Thanks! It looks like I'll have to get up early one day! :)

Silly question... I'm thinking I should have done more research...

Is Ollivander's a ride?

Your doing the research now :thumbsup2

Ollivander's is a show, we skipped it out only WWoHP visit due to hour(s) long wait, we are making ti a priory next trip.

Ollivanders Wand shop is a short show. They take 20 or so guests into the wand shop and just like the movie the wand chooses a wizard( a guest is picked by the proprietor of the shop and allowed to try out the wand and make magic happen..and then given the option to buy the wand that chose him/her) .After the show everyone is led into the gift shop where they can purchase a wand.

Is the show worth getting up early or waiting a bit?

if you are a big parry hotter fan, you would enjoy it.

if you aren't, well..........your call.

if the line is short, try the show.
i believe they take 20-5 peeps into the building for each show.

for me, only once was enough.

Worth it at least once..I won't wait for it ever again, but if there is no wait I would do it again. It's cute, probably much cuter if you are chosen
