Early-Early Roll call.... 4-28-07 Eastern

My DD will be 5 1/2 when we cruise - so they will be in the same group!!

So excited to see so many kids on this boat! My daughter will also be 5 1/2 and my cousin is going with her daughter who will just be turning 4. I was told that the will be able to be kept together, but when there is a packed boat like this particular week they tend to separate them more strictly by age. This is our first Disney cruise though I did take this route via Royal Carribean for my honeymoon. Do the younger ones all get to do the cool activites? My daughter is alrweady hounding me and its 2 months away!:scared1:

Wow, it looks like all but 1-2 of us are first-time Disney cruisers!

54 more days!.............:rotfl2:

All of our clan will be going for the first time. Boy is 10 and looking forward to Oceaneer Lab and the pools. Excursions and massages are booked. 8 weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!

Its so funny to see the beginning of this thread when people were booking a year ago and talking about this trip. How time flies. We booked exactly two months in advance and now Im nervous because my friend just got her pasport after two months of waiting! I'm also nervous that my husband will have a good time. He didnt want to do a Disney cruise (Dont we do Disney enough?:confused3 ) And was upset they didnt have a casino since he lived in it on our honeymoon (I should leave him in St. Maartin:drive: ). Guess hes concerned that he wont have enough to do on the trip. We have a 5 year old daughter now and its her first cruise. She will have fun but will we? Hes also upset we didnt pick the Western one because were on this boat an extra day and only going to 3 ports instead of four. Did we make a mistake booking this one? Is there other things for the adults to do? I hope that I'm not the only one who has a party pooper like this:cool1:

this will be our second disney cruise

our first one was solo without kids - and we LOVED it!

Disney does a good job of providing things for adults - although we aren't big on gambling - but what good is a casino if your kids arent in a kids club that they are begging to go to?

I see that you and I graduated from high school the same year and got married the same year and we both have 5 year old girls!! if he loves disney enough to with you as often as he does - he will have a great time!!

Hi Everyone, I am back from my cruise before the BIG cruise! The water at Half Moon Cay, which I assume is somewhere near CC because they are both private Bahama islands, was verrrry cooooolllllll. I got in it but not for long. I am sure it will be much warmer by the time we get there. Yippee !!

I missed the grandkids, especially when I saw several other 3 generation families traveling together. Cruises are great extended family vacations. You can be together or not and Disney makes it easier with the adult pool and beach!

HAL makes you pay $18.75 plus 15% for a soda card for 20 sodas. I only used 13 and that was buying several for my friends so that was not a value! Another plus for DCL, all the sodas you can drink and DH drinks alot!

Sorry I am rambling... it is neat to have a little cruise remorse from missing that cruise but having another one to look forward too! Let me just say I love cruising and hope you do too if this is your first cruise.

Good night,
Vicki

Hey! everyone! I noticed a few of you are staying on deck 7. My room number is 7063. Please come and say hi! We are celebrating both our 10 year wedding anniversary and my daughters 6th birthday! Lets see if I can write this like you guys!

I'd definatly get the passport ASAP! Although I think you can still get away with the birth certificate overseas until '08 right? Passports are SUPER quick and easy once you have them. It took us about 6 weeks to get ours back.

I also worried that my husband would be bored on the Disney cruise because he was ADDICTED to the casino on our Princess & Royal Caribbean cruises. :faint: However, there are sooooooo many activities (for adults) on DCL that I've read numerous trip reports saying that the husbands all had a great time and all wanted to go back! I've also read quite a few threads about people liking the Eastern itinerary because it DOES have extra sea days. Apparently Disney provides so many activities that having the extra day helps. We're all really lucky to be able to sail on Disney, and I think we'll all have a fabulous time! :thumbsup2 :grouphug:

You dont have to have a passport at this point for cruises - so if you dont get them in time i dont think it is a big deal.

Welcome aboard poshspice94 & plutoNme! I will be sure to add you to our long list (which I will be adding probably tonight)!! We didn't get out passports (yes, they could help you out if stranded out of the US but that chance is slim so we are waiting until our next cruise/trip to get them. Plus, I lost my birth certificate so I had to order that in order to get the passport... Long story....it's not a bad idea to have them though.

I honestly don't know how anyone can get bored onboard! THere's so much to do! There's always something going on in the kid's club and they always have so much fun!

As for us, there's sometimes 3 things that we wanted to do at the same time! I'm already overwhelmed looking at the Navigators because I see things that overlap:sad: Like the castaway club party is at the same time as the dessert class.:confused3

As for the western vs. eastern, we did western last year and eastern this year. I like the extra day at sea because it is a great time to do more fun things! I personally didn't care too much for grand cayman & cozumel (I had been there before) but we also had little children so couldn't do any excursions...just the beach!

So....I make a bet with your husband that he won't be bored! Send him to the adult pool & bar whenever he seems to start becoming bored!
:lmao:

Thank you Faith&Hope for adding me to your growing list. Don't get me worng, mu hasband is not a "gambler" by any means. I guess the honeymoon trip on RC kept him very busy with adult activities such as slots & poker that he was worried going on what he calls a "kiddie boat". Wait till he sees that its just not for kids. So many have loved the extra sea day on this one, I'm actually excited now. How did we think that one less stop meant we were getting jipped? And thanks for telling us there is an adult sports-type bar. Made him feel better!pixiedust:

Does anyone know the current availability for Flounders Nursery and Palo dinners?

Do you mean to book now? If so, I just checked and there seems to be a lot of openings for Flounder's, but there are no times left for Palo. However, you should be able to book once onboard!

Thanks for the reply about Flounders and Palo. Do they hold back a certain number of spots for Palo so people can book aboard? How do I ensure that we get on? Any advice?

I have been thinking on the door signs -

we could do it two ways - everyone could have their own unique door sign and put the little magic logo on it - or we could all have one door sign that is the same and then make others if we want

I am going to make this on for my door - and could do this for everyone's doors - the characters in the porthole reflect my family - i ahve done this with more portholes - so we would not be limitied to four

I also think I will make a new doorsign for each day of the cruise - maybe half sheets - my kids will LOVE putting them up each day - they love this kind of stuff!!!

doorsignours.jpg

so I can make these for people or you or i could incorporate this into a different design - but either way - it would give us the distinction of being on this thread

I can also add DIS into it somehow - if anyone has thoughts on a title for us?!!?

this is the link to all of my cruise designs

I love your designs!! My designing capabilities are on the stick people level. :lmao:
I was able to print off the Magic design and make a door sign. No small feat! I would love to print off the boat design. The number of port holes match my family. DH, DW, DS (14) , DD (9). So appropriate! O K so how do I print the pic of the boat off? Remember this will be tough for me.

We are first time cruisers also. I know for a fact once our DD is at the Lab and our DS is hanging out at the Stack you will find myself and DH at the Sports Lounge and Bar!! DH is a big NASCAR fan and he was invited to see the race in Talledaga on Apr. 28th :rolleyes1 . He had to decline because he will be on an amazing cruise. I know he will have a blast on the boat. He's with me, right?!

OK - this is our 1st Disney Cruise as well as my 1st time posting on a board. We will be on the 7th deck forward. Our "crew" is myself, my husband and our 4 year old daughter. She is so excited she can't stand it. We didn't realize you could book Palo so far ahead - so when we looked, it was full. Anyone know if we will actualy be able to book onboard?

hey stripes -

tell me your family's favorite characters and I will put them in the portholes for you!

Hi Julia and Nicks Mom

Sorry for the delay. Had to finish work, tap dance lessons, dinner etc. I am sure you know what I mean. Anyhoo, I asked everyone who their favourite character.
DH - Donald Duck
Me - Daisy Duck
DS - Pluto
DD - Cinderella

Thanks so much
Kathy
