I know that in the hotels, they let you check in early - if your room isn't ready they'll hold your luggage. What happens in the campground if you check in early?

If your site is not ready, you can go ahead and complete the check-in process but they will not give you the site number. You can park your camper at the large parking lot to the right of the check-in building. At that point you can either head to the parks or depending on the time, just keep calling back to the front desk and they will let you know when it is ready. Last month we got there early and for the first time our site was not ready. They told me I was guaranteed to have my site by 1pm so I wasn't worried 'cause I only had to wait 45 minutes. I have checked in as early as 8am and gotten my site right away so you never know.

We have always gotten our site early except last year. We just parked our camper in the lot, took our bikes off and road around checking things out.

If you are staying in a cabin, or are camping and flying, they will store your luggage/gear for you until your site/cabin is available.

Thanks for the info. We'll have our camper, and it's hard to estimate how long it'll take to get there. By car, it's 18 hours, but we've never made this drive with the camper before. If we get there too early, we'll just park in the lot and either go to the parks or hang out at the campgorund.

Thanks!
