early check in?

Has anyone had any luck being able to check in to their room early? We leave tomorrow night and will stay in Daytona Beach for 2 nights and then arrive in WDW on Sunday. We are staying at POR. I know that we can check in at the desk early and get our passes to start enjoying the parks, but would also like to get into the room fairly early. My DH is a huge nascar fan and doesnt want to miss the race on Sunday!

I have been able to check in as early as 9:00 am. (cbr, bwv, akl), but have also had to wait until afternoon (cbr). The will hold your bags after you check in so you can go to the parks, or do something else. You can then call the resort or, if you return later, just go to the front desk, get your room & have your bags sent up.

I've had good luck when arriving early at FW, AKL and OKW in the past. This year we were unable to get our room until 4pm.

I guess there are no guarantees but I've been able to get my room early more often than not. Good luck!

We've had good luck too. We've been able to check in upon arrival both times. We were driving so we arrived at 12pm.

I have checked in as early as 6:30 AM. The room was ready. I took what they had available and didn't make any requests so if you don't have any requests other than non smoking I would imagine you would be able to get into your room at that hour. It also depends on how full the resort is.

Remember you are at Disney. We are huge NASCAR fans but we miss a race or two when we go to WDW.

You could always go over the the ESPN Zone and watch the races there. I'm sure there has to be at least 1 tv showing it...

All depends on availability and room preference. I've checked in as early as 8am at poly, WL and CSR. I am thinking checking in on a Sunday during the summer might be tricky (lots of weekend visiters). I tried to check into POR last Saturday at 9am, no luck, went back around 1pm and was able to check in.

Just wondering! were doing a shuttle and a grocery stop but we will hopefully arrive before noon, We have requested a fridge ( yes its extra) and are planning on getting milk etc at the store can we do this? if i get a cheap cooler will they keep that with our luggage?

Yes they will keep a cooler with your luggage.

we recently stayed at the poly. we arrived at 10 am and were very pleased that we could check-in and our room was ready. I'd say give it a try.

We have never checked in later than 11 am. We have been lucky so far. The only time we had to wait for a room was on our honeymoon at OKW. we arrived at 10am and had to wait until about 11am for our room but when we checked in there was a nice romantic brunch waiting as well as his and her robes, slippers, champange,balloons,and a nice card wishing us well. So we didn't mind the wait. They truely started off our honeymoon w/ magic!
