Finally, all arrangements are done. Originally we were staying at CBR from 8/11-8/17. Dh, works for airlines and we couldn't get down there that day using his passes.... So we just booked All Star Music for the night before. We will get to the hotel by 10 p.m. The following morning we'll check out and then in to CBR... Hopefully, Disney will move our bags for us. Has anyone had any success with early check in. If we can't get our room at that time, which we are prepared for, we were thinking we'll hang out pool side in the mean time perhaps. Need something to do to pass the time. Can't go to the parks yet, b/c in-laws may not have arrived yet. Anywho, just looking for successful early check in stories and whatever else. All respones appreciated. Can't believe it's 8 Days away!!!!!!!! :rockband:

That's still the heart of the school holiday season, so chances are the resorts will still be booked up pretty solid. Early check-in, therefore, would be dependant on some other guest checking out early from a room just like the one you're supposed to be checking into, and housekeeping having enough time to clean that room. It doesn't seem likely, but maybe you'll get lucky.

Keep in mind, though, that if Disney moves your bags, it may not be until late-afternoon before you get them back. Some folks recently discussed this in another thread, and the advice some gave was just to bite the bullet and pay for a taxi to move resorts.

You can always check in early. Your room may or may not be ready. If you have put in specific requests like a certain village, second floor etc. it may not be ready. If you really don't have a lot of requests they will probably find you a room that has already been cleaned.

You can always hang around the pool. There are changing rooms by the pool.

I have checked in early several times and only once was I not able to get into my room early. That was only because the previous guest decided to take their sweet time and not check out until 2:30 :confused3 .

Wow, when do schools there go back? Almost all of our schools here will return Monday, some even went back this week.

That's what I was about to say! :)

My experience traveling to WDW during mid-August is much, much lighter crowds that, say, late June. The last time we went in mid-August, our room was ready when we checked in at about 11am. Of course, YMMV.

Schools starts here on August 31.
