EARLY CHECK IN: December 15th, 2007 - Seven night Western - 12/15/07

I would love to do a Repo cruise, but with the dates they are I don't want to have the kids out of school for 2 weeks. :( I will just stick with our cruise!

I really want to do the Eastern Repo cruise seeing as by that time, I'll have an engineering job thats bringing in a decent amount of money; however, Shaun doesn't want to. He's not a vacationing type of person...I'm lucky enough to get him to do the 9 days of trip for our wedding (prep stuff then wedding then a small 4 day honeymoon)

I may ask my best friend to do the repo with me, but we'll see...

Hi Stacie. We had hot chocolate too. DH headed off to work, but came back home. Luckily he is able to do some work from home. He took DD out to play for a little while. When they came back in, I had the hot chocolate waiting. Most of the snow is gone already. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 50's. They're calling for more "winter weather" on Sunday. Guess winter finally made it to the East coast.

We hoping to book another cruise while on board the Dec. cruise. We'll see. We may try for another September one, as the rates are cheaper and DD is tracked out of school.

I can't decide if I want the next 8 weeks to go by quickly or slowly. I'm quite miserable, with back pain and heartburn and trouble moving around. But, our lives will change drastically with a new baby. I'm hoping not to make DD feel neglected. I'm also dreading the sleep deprivation. However, I am looking forward to holding the little guy who made me so sick in the beginning and now is just making me uncomfortable.

DD also had trouble gaining weight. It lasted until she was about 18 months old. I'm sorry you're have to wake Andy up at 5. That doesn't sound like fun for either of you. I hope he gains some weight though. I think some babies are just more interested in sleep. Keep us updated.

This is the first Friday in over a month that it ISN'T snowing in Denver. :woohoo:
They are saying we might get an inch or so on Sat or Sun though. That will be just enough to cover up the yukky dirty snow. :)

Well it snowed yesterday for a whole 30 minutes, enough to just dust the grass. That was enough for me.

Stacie that is a same Andy isn't gaining much weight, looks heathly to me. If he wanted a bottle at 5:00 am he would wake up for one. I always felt when baby sleeps I sleep. Really 11-7 isn't bad at all. Hope he gains a little weight for you.

On seat on plane WOW!!!!!!. Then he gets the same count luggage, I would guess.

Pinkprincessmom, hang in there time will pass fast for you, before you know it baby will be 2 months old.

I would like to do the Repo cruise. I'll have to wait & see how much my China trip is going to cost me. I should be getting my passport soon. We appilied right after Christmas.

Everyone one have a great week-end. May the snow go where the ones what it, & stay away from the people who don't want it ;)

Hey all!
We're supposed to be getting up to 3" this weekend. They are saying it should start around midnight tonight and end around noon tomorrow.

Andy got his passport on Thursday. Now only DH needs one. I wish they would keep changing the laws and just pick a date. He's hardly motivated to get one when they keep pushing it back.

Melissa--DS had a Lego Mindstorm competetion today they got honorable mention for robot dependibility. I think he'll drive you nuts with questions on the cruise. We told him he has to go to a college in Iowa the first year then can transfer somewhere else. He wants to be a mechanical or robotic engineer. Maybe you could convince him that Iowa State University has a good program for that and that he doesn't have to go to MIT. Maybe he'd listen to it coming from somebody else.

DD is having two friends over tonight, she must have caught me on one of those mornings that I got up at 5:00. It's been constant giggling for 3 hours. What was I thinking? :confused3

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Thats awesome about the honorable mention. I loved playing with Legos (well I still do...but I have to deal with Knex instead for some of my classes) To be honest, I really do not like MIT and I can convince him of that. Its in a bad part of town. The campus has this cold sterile feel too...and the people there are creepy. (plus WPI just developed the nations first real major in Robotic Engineering)

Also, I can help convince him about how important scholarships are. I have a full tuition scholarship to WPI along with 2k coming every year from National Merit stuff. So it really helps out a lot. I only take out loans to cover my housing which I really dont have to do because I work but I rather be safe and work less hours then burn out.

I dont know if I could convince him into Iowa State University because I dont know a lot about it. I know alot about Michigan tech and Purdue and Purdue might be a good compromise between the two... (random ramblings)

Also, in honesty, where you get your education really doesn't matter too much in the long run. It matters more about the networking. I can convince him of that too.

I am going in for LASIK in about an hour. Wish me luck!

Good luck Cristi. Tell us how is goes. A friend is having it done Feb. 5 and DH has been looking at it.

We put the border up this weekend and the crib. Now we just need sheets and such.

I have another ultrasound Wednesday.

I have never heard of LASIK. Is it something I should know about:confused:

We had .4 inch of snow last night. There was more on the car then the street, good enough for me. Saw it now it is gone.

Not much else happening.

I'm having trouble getting on the site, every day I have to clear my footprints. This is the only web site I'm having trouble with:confused3. Any computer experts tell me what to do, please;)

Cristi--Hope all goes well. I've thought about it but am not brave enough.

Sharon--Lasik is vision correction surgery for those of us that wear glasses. It supposed to be a somewhat permanent procedure. The downside is that it costs some $$ and usually isn't covered by insurance.

Susan--Getting the nursery finished up, baby must be getting close. Hope everything goes well with the ultrasound. Is your DD excited about being a big sister?

Hi guys, I'm back and I can see! Everything went well. I was still pretty nervous though even with the adivan. They give you this stuffed dog to hold on to during the surgery so your hands have something to do. I was twisting poor Bowzer pretty good. :) DH got to watch the surgery from just outside room. He said it was pretty bizarre. The thing I wasn't expecting was the slight burning smell of the laser. That kind of freaked me out a little. We got home about 12:45 yesteday, I had a sandwich with my eyes closed and then slept until almost 5 pm. Even after that when I was up I kept my eyes closed a lot or squinted my way around. My eyes felt better with them closed. My left eye in particular had a very sandy, slightly burning sensation. This morning it is pretty much gone, although my right eye seemed to have the sandy feeling when I first got up. I have to leave in about 30 minutes to go for my first post-op appointment. I have these cool shades to wear in the sun. :cool2:

We were able to flex the money out from DH's flex plan so we will get all of the money back pretty soon and I paid for it with my Disney Visa so that is a lot of Disney dollars. :)

Stacie, thanks for helping me out. I may have yo have it in about 3-5 years, we'll see.

Cristi, glad everything went well for you.

Susan. glad you are finishing up the nursey.

We have the new living room almost done, few little things have to be touched up. Now to work on the old living room. Think I'll need the back hoe again:lmao: . Once we get the entertament center set up in new room, all the DVD's will go there. We have a ton of them. It is a matter of going through all the things I've been saving over the years, cause I might need it. :scared1: If it doesn't have a new home it is going to the trash or thrift store.:yay:

Hope all is well with everyone

Hi all. I had a good OB appointment today. All the problems they had found with the baby on ultrasound have resolved themselves. He did gain about 1.5-2 lbs in a 3 week period. That makes me a little nervous since I have 7 weeks to go!!

I may have strep throat. The dr. did a rapid culture and I'm just waiting for the results.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday everyone.

Susan--What good news!! :cool1: I'm sure your very relieved. I hope you don't have strep throat, although if you do it's easy to cure. You can give any extra weight to Andy. We are supplementing with formula, hopefully when he gets weighed next week he'll have gained.

Cristi--Glad everything went well for you. I bet it is weird to be able to see with no contacts or glasses.

Sharon--You've definately earned your vacations with all the remodeling you've done.

Nothing much is new here. The big invitational swim meet is this weekend. I'm in charge of the concession stand. I'm leaving Andy with our youth pastors (they are a husband and wife and are expecting a baby at the end of February). It will be his first time away from us. :sad1: He'll be fine, I'm not sure how I'm going to do.

I'm excited. I paid off the cruise today (yay tax refunds)

Now to save up my spending money :D

Sharon, sounds like all of the remodeling is going well. We are still working on our master bath. It has been going on for close to two months ( a lot of it is waiting around time for different fixtures). We got the shower door yesterday, but when DH was cutting the top piece he cut it too short so he is going to call on Monday to see about getting another piece ( and seeing if they will cut it for him). Then all that will be left is the floor. We will probably do that next month, but I am hoping that maybe I can shower in my bathroom by next weekend.

Susan, that is great news with the ultrasound. Hope you are feeling better!

Stacie, how did it go leaving Andy for the weekend?
