Early buses back to the resort

How early does Disney start running buses from the parks to the resorts? They have added a morning Extra Magic Hour (which means 7 am park opening) during my trip. The plan is to spend the day at the Disney Studios, but I'd really like to hit the Magic Kingdom for EMH. Would they have buses running back to the resorts at 8:30 am with any frequency?

I don't think they have the dedicated resort buses yet- like when you line up at your resort stop, they may not let you get on that bus. But they will put you on a bus back to your resort. We did get on a bus fairly early in the day from the park back to our resort and that's what they did for us.

Is there a particular reason that you need to go back to your resort? It would be so much easier to just take the bus from MK to DHS.

To meet up with the rest of the family. They would rather I go back and go with them to our park for the day.

The buses will run back to the resorts to PU more people.

That's not how the bus system works at WDW.
They don't have an MK bus (or buses) dedicated to, say, Coronado Springs that just drives
back and forth bringing guests from that resort to MK, then returning to that same resort for more guests.

Buses are centrally dispatched individually to whatever location needs certain buses at the moment.

The physical bus that has just brought guests from Resort X (Coronado Springs in my specific example) to MK,
MIGHT then be sent over to, say, All Star Sports to take a busload of cheerleaders to Wide World of Sports.

They should be running from and to the resorts early in the morning. For guests without a car who have early morning dining reservations the official suggestion is to take a bus to a nearby park and then a bus to the resort you are dining at.

We were on a bus back to Pop last October a few minutes after 9am. Exact same scenario. Hit 7am EMH and met with the rest of the group back at the resort to continue our day. I'm not certain if there was a bus prior to that one. And oddly enough we weren't the only people on the bus back.

And we also took a bus from DHS at 930 to go to AK after another EMH morning.

I hope that was somewhat helpful.

I've left MK after doing morning EMH a couple times and gone back to my resort. A bus comes, but seems like the frequency is less than normal. Could just be my luck though lol

No it wasn't just your luck, buses do pick up guests at the MK for the resorts in the morning. Bus load zones are monitored and if there are guests waiting, a bus will be dispatched by the MK bus dispatcher.

Yes, buses are available, but they aren't running regularly. A bus will have to be dispatched, which will take some extra time.

@maxiesmom - keep in mind that you probably won't make it to DHS until close to 10:00

We've gone "backwards" in the morning without an issue. Waits can be up to 20 minutes, of course... but you're pretty much guaranteed a seat on the bus. ;)

I was at the MK right before the hurricane hit and it was an EMH morning at a little before 9 am I got a ride home so I decided to leave a day early ( bag mistake) so I walked to the bus some CM stopped me and told this van would pick me up and go to bus number ( I forgot) the van came to pick me up along with 3 other people all at different resorts and take us back. I was told early on this is what they do. not sure how long.

That was a temporary/emergency procedure only for that time.

What I said is the buses would go back to the resorts. I did not say they would go back to the resort. I am unclear how your clarification improves the response.
