Earliest FP Return Times?

If I go to morning extra magic hours and obtain a FP (assuming they are given during morning emh) will the return time automatically be for a time after the parks regularly scheduled opening? Or is it possible to get a FP during morning emh with a return time prior to regular park opening? Any first hand insight from cast members would be most helpful.

The earliest distributed FPs are redeemable an hour later. They do distribute FPs during EMH. But, if you were to get to the park at rope drop, your FP would be redeemable for at least an hour later - when the park is open to all guests.

the fast pass return time will always be at least an hour after it is issued

I've gotten FPs for attractions with a return time less than 1 hour ahead. BTMRR is one that comes to mind where I've gotten a return time of 40 or 50 minutes ahead. Unless some new, formal restriction has been added to the system, I'd say return times are usually at least 1 hour ahead, but not always.

I've had return times for TSMM that started at 9:24 on a non EMH day. I've also had return times at Buzz for 9:10 on a non EMH day.

the first FP return window should be 40 minutes after the hour.

So if the park opens at 9, it should be 9:40. if it's EMH at 8 am, it should be 8:40.

From there on in, the window is a response to how quickly FPs are distributed. It's actually quite possible (although not as common) for the current time to match up with the current FP return windows. But since FP rates can be controlled on a per day, per machine basis, they'd just generally speed up distribution or shut down the machine completely.

but anything is possible, including getting a 9:24 FP when the park opens at 9 I suppose.

there is a difference between what is possible, and what is likely... there are exceptions to every rule if you are making plans, expect it will be at least an hour after distribution...

During low crowd times of year, sometimes you get disney magic. during busy times of year (which is more likely when the OP is going) at least an hour after is realistic under ideal conditions at park open.

I got free dessert at Le Cellier once, that does not make it the norm. You got fast passes quicker than what is usually expected, that does not make it the norm.

We go in July and I've gotten FPs for BTMRR in the early evening and the return window has been only 40-minutes out. This typically happens on days when Splash Mountain FPs are long gone.

You are the one that made a blanket statement using the term 'always.' I was careful to say 'usually.'

Good luck with that

I have, in general, seen FP times start anywhere from 30-60 minutes after rope drop.

This past week, when we have been there for rope drop, it was consistently 60 minutes...but I believe in both cases it was morning EMH as well.

In the past, it always seemed to be 30 minutes.

Note that this is only the STARTING delay. It is possible for that delay window to shrink if FPs are not being taken fast enough. This past Monday EE fastpasses didn't seem to be taken very fast...the window dropped to 40 minutes by the time of regular park open.

There is also a minimum delay window, somewhere around 30 minutes. Maybe as low as 20.
