Hi, I am obviously very excited and looking forward to my WDW trip next summer and can't wait to buy our airline tickets. Does anyone know how many months in advance prices come out or the ability to make a purchase? I'm leaning towards Jet Blue and Southwest. Thanks so much !

For the 'Legacy Carriers', United, Delta, USAir and the like I've booked 330 days in advance and unless something has changed I'd be looking then. I've flown the discount carriers lately, AirTran and JetBlue among them and they don't follow the 330 day thing. SouthWest has a Travel Tools tab in which they announce the next release of new dates, others here may have info on other discount airlines.

PSUGuy is correct that the "legacy" carriers release flights for booking on a rolling basis 330 days out. The newer "discount" carriers are all over the map in terms of when they release dates and in many cases don't have a consistent schedule.

You can check this thread to see when SWA has opened various dates for booking in the past. They open their schedule in blocks, not day by day, and in general, they seem to be opening about eight months out at this time. However, at any given time they may only be open for the next five or six months if it's been a while since their last release date.

So, for example, on Feb. 20, SWA released dates through Nov. 2 for booking. That's a little more than eight months out. However, they don't plan to open their next block of dates (through Jan. 4) until June 4. As a result, at this time you can only book about six months out (and by the time they release in June the end of the schedule will be only five months out).

JetBlue does not serve my home airport, so I have no idea how their schedule releases work.

jetBlue is pretty similar to Southwest: they open up their schedule in bursts, with a few days notice via email....one burst might have four months, another might have just two.
