I know that EOS is in DTD---can you tell us which side it's on--ex:closer to SSR or the West Side? My DH and I have been seeing great posts for this restaurant, appreciate the earlier response---also, anyone out there :flower: want to comment on Fulton's Crab House---DTD---I've not seen a lot of good posts on this restaurant and if we're paying the kind of prices they charge---we'd like it to be good! Thanks! :flower:

Earl of Sandwich is much closer to the SSR end. We thought our food was great and very good cost wise.

Fultons- I for one was not impressed. I thought it was overpriced for what you got and the food was just okay. We tried it for lunch and still thought it was overpriced. That said, I've grown up eating good seafood, so Your mileage may vary!

I wish I could recall the exact location but I can tell you it is closer to SSR at the complete oposite end of DTD from teh West Side. It's relatively close to the the large Disney Pin Store.

Hope this helps....

Well if you remember where the old Gourmet store was with the sandwiches and bakery... it's right there. Coming from SSR it is just past the Christmas shop.

I've seen a number of posts from people who wouldn't think of missing Fultons. They love it, and they go every trip. If you check on the Disney Dining board I'm sure you will see plenty of rave reviews.

I've only eaten there once. I thought the food was quite good, but significantly overpriced. The best comparison this Miami boy can make is that they charge more than Joe's Stone Crabs in South Beach for stone crabs...and they sure as heck ain't Joe's. Not even close.

Good food; not good value, IMHO. As an earlier poster noted, it may depend somewhat on what you are used to.

Earl of Sandwich was a refreshing stop, Good food at a very reasonable price. It's is near that Pin Trader Shack. Near the Christmas store.

We loved Fultons and will go again. There is a DVC discount, so be sure to ask. DH loved the crabcakes and for the life of me, I can't remember the name of the stew-like creation I had, but it was delicious, and more than I could eat in one sitting.

We will go for lunch the next time.

Is Fultons the one on the boat?

IF so we ate there last September. It was nice but very expensive. Our server chased us as we left the boat because she thought we had forgotten to tip her. We had not. Her tip was probably average but she chased after us again to say she thought we had made a mistake and not left her enough!!!!!

She was very rude and it was quite embarrassing. I cannot remember the amount of tip (our friend paid the check) but it was enough IMHO. She was too cheeky and we won't go back there.

As Brits I know we have a reputation as low tippers. We tip here for servers, taxi drivers, hairdressers etc, but the tipping culture is different, it is not obligatory like it is for you in the states. We feel quite awkward in the US knowing what to tip. I would rather pay higher prices that include a tip. Saves embarrassment........

It is where the Gourmet Pantry used to be. One thing you should know it is a sandwich shop, you can sit down to eat, but that is about it.

Oh my goodness! I assure you, all Americans aren't rude! I have seen a total of ONE post recommending this place and I am sorely afraid that we won't frequent it! We are from Central North Carolina with ties to the Outer Banks....when we want seafood, we go down, enjoy the beach and eat a wonderful, albeit, over priced seafood dinner! I am SO SORRY for what happened to you...obviously, they need to do some revisions on their wait staff! NO ONE should be chased down not once, but TWICE and asked for another tip! Maybe this person should think about another career! I can tell you that my DH and I visited a very reputable restaurant down east and we were MISERABLE with our wait person! Talk about RUDE! We left her a PENNY so that the message would be clear! In my opinion, if you choose food service as your job/career, be ready to step up---tips, and I do believe in tipping well (as I've been there in my younger years) should be earned, NOT obligatory!

Sorry, this is off point-I haven't set a foot on the boat since it became Fulton's. I hate seafood!!!!!!!!

On tipping--We have been coming to WDW since 1973. In the earlier years we always had a meal at the Steerman Quarters (located on what is now Fulton's). We were aghast when a waiter came to the next table to pick up the payment for the check and asked the diner, "Do you need your change?" I have come to realize this is a phenomena often practiced among college age students. I live in a college town and encounter that question often. I always leave a tip. I have been known to write a note on the back of a check telling the server that I like to have my change first and the opportunity to decide whether I want to leave a tip rather than being hijacked by a rude question which, in effect, saves the server a trip back to the table to deliver the change. When asked the question I always say yes unless I have correct change for the tip and tell them to keep the change before being asked for it. The first time asked the server would have received a $7.00 tip on a $13.00 meal. I'm sorry, no service is worth that tip to me.
