Earl of Samich closing in January 2022 ?

I read a story today that said the Earl was closing this coming January for what sounds like a remodel of that end of Disney springs. This was coupled with the closing of the AMC theater. Someone please tell me this is a hoax ? A trip this coming year without a few trips to the Earl will just not be the same.

Okay.... How in the world did I miss that ? I went back to re read the story and couldnt find it. Part of me is mad at me for missing that and the other part is happy that I was wrong.

I think the thing to remember is Downtown Disney is only in CA.
One story I found never mentioned Disneyland but they were talking about downtown Disney and not Disney Springs.

It is Downtown Disney at Disneyland California that Earl of Sandwich is closing. AMC has been closed in Downtown Disney at Disneyland California since 2018 . That whole area was supposed to be redesigned for a new hotel, but due to disagreements between The City of Anaheim and Disney, the hotel plans were cancelled. Rainforest Cafe also closed in Downtown Disney at Disneyland California due to the proposed hotel construction.

What Disney is now doing is redesigning the area and demolishing unoccupied buildings.

Apparently the closings begin January 2022 for a nicer new re-design to provide “Green Space” looks very nice for Disneyland
