Earful Tower to be Removed from Studios

Curious, How does a water tower signify a movie studio?
We have a water tower in our town. We don't make movies there.

Most major movie studios have a water tower on their property.

Funny thing is I guess it's an icon that means different things depending on where you live
Around here it means small town America as only small towns in this area have them.
My first thought has never been "movies"

I'm very excited to see where this park goes... I'd love to see it turn out like DCA (even though I've never been there, it looks so fun!)

DCA did turn out beautiful. When we were there for D23 in August 2011 it was a huge mess. Basically the entire center of the park was behind walls, the walkways were along the edges. It was my friends first time and I was disappointed for her. But we went back last year for D23 so she got to see the finished product.

What a shame if this is true. That tower is probably the cutest of all of the icons.

They used to put a santa hat on it during the holidays. It's been a long time since they've done that.

I'm going to miss the tower. I loved it when it had the goggles in honor of Horace Grant and when they would put the Santa hat on it. I loved looking for it whenever I would ride Tower of Terror. I am loving that they are finally giving DHS some much needed attention,, but I'm also concerned that the expansions might just add to the identity crisis. Instead of it being the current park with the identity crisis, I'm scared it will be the newly expanded park that still has an identity crisis. Hopefully they can tie everything together cohesively.


Hmm... I wonder if my HOA would allow me to put the water tower up in our backyard if Disney allowed me to buy it...

But I am a little bummed that they do not just shut down the entire park and do the makeover without the intrusion of guests getting in the way. They could probably cut the construction time in half if they simply closed the park.

We have that same lamp! Maybe it will become valuable now.

I think they need to have half price admission to HS now that all of this is shutting down. There won't be very much to do there until the pans and building are complete.

I know MDE uses the ToT as the icon so I assuming that will be it

For now it is Tower of Terror. I would love if they could use the Theater that is home to Great Movie Ride but that will probably never happen. It is the "icon" but just can't be represented that way.
