Ok-now I just heard of E Ride Nights---what is this? How do you get these passes? Are they the same as the "magical hours" passes I've heard about? Too much different info out there!! Is this really worth going there?
:earseek: :badpc:

E Ride Nights are no longer available. WDW is now doing Early/Evening Magical Hours. They are available on certain mornings/evenings. For the morning the selected park is open an hours early and evenings it is opened for additional 3 hours. The perk is included in your park ticket. I hope this helps and I am sure others can offer their opinions as well. :)

Actually, it is not included in your park ticket. It is a perk for resort guests.

Ok--we are staying off site--but I read that if you book a campground ($38 a night for the time we are going) that we can still get access to this? Is this correct and is it worth doing? I would think the $38 a night would be worth the extra few non-croweded hours in Disney--especially w/ the kids. (you book the site--but dont actually stay there but just get the perks)

Actually, EMH evenings have been quite crowded from the reports I have heard.

Do people really do this? Do the campgrounds ever fill up and people who actually want to stay there can't? (Really just an innocent question-I have no idea of the capacity of the campgrounds)

Extra Magic Hour is for resort guests only, each day one park either opens one hour early or stays open up to 3 hours after park closing for resort guests.

The cheapest campsite I can find at Ft Wilderness is $64.00 in August, plus tax. If you were to do this you would have to go and check in at Ft Wilderness and get a resort ID for everyone in the party. In order to enter the park early for EMH or get a wristband to stay late you need a valid resort ID for everyone in your party - yes they do now have names.

You would only be entitled to use EMH on the day(s) you reserve and pay for the campsite so - IMHO it seems like alot of work and $$ to do an extra hour at the parks.

Perhaps if you really want this perk you can split your stay between your offsite hotel and a WDW resort. In August you can somtimes get a good rate at one of the Allstar resorts.

Otherwise just get to the parks early and use FP and don't worry about EMH.

Plus, the EMH has been changing this summer so who knows what park you might end up with on the day you decide to have a reservation and it could just be one hour in the morning vs 3 hours in the evening.

Ok--I looked online and for 2 night is wouldve costed $70 (just over actually). Im not sure how many people actually do this and if the campgrounds ever fill up--I just read this tip today and thought it sounded good--but Im not sure if the hassle would really be worth it. Is Disney really busy the 2nd week of August? I know we wont be able to see everything (and I dont really want to so we can enjoy our next trip to Disney ...hmm, already thinking ahead, lol) but I do want the kids to enjoy themselves and ride some of their fav. rides. I know we will prob. have long lines to stand in--but Im not sure what is considered "long" in Disney terms??
Since this is our first time, I know we will probably wonder aimlessly trying to figure the whole Disney thing out--so I dont know, maybe the 3 extra hours would be worth it...

If you make use of Fastpass and do not go on a day that is EMH for resort guests, you should be fine.

Remember, the EMH schedules are not set in stone. You could make a reservation for a night you think is MK EMH in the evening and it could change and be a night for another park or not an EMH evening at all.

Wow--didnt know that!! Im not sure Im that much of a risk taker!
Does anyone know when the schedule for August is coming out?

The August schedule should be out around June 1. Check on disneyworld.com or wdwinfo.com or allearsnet.com.

There are also tons of information on these sites to help you plan your Disney days. I don't suggest you go without some kind of plan since you are going during a busy period. As others have said, make sure you use Fast Passes and avoid the EMH parks since they get very busy.

Also, you have to consider that the whole park is not open during EMH, only a few attractions. That may not be worth paying for the campground.
