DxDP plus DP - overlap day question

We have a split stay, 1 night at YC then 5 nights at AKVK. We already have DxDP for the first reservation. I am considering adding DP for the second. Here's what our schedule would be for the overlapping day and how I would like to use credits:

(Would use on TS on arrival night, leaving 2 DxDP credits for the overlap day)

breakfast - DxDP TS credit
lunch - DP QS credit, probably at Stormalong Bay/Hurricane Hana's
dinner - DxDP TS credit

We do not plan on trekking over to Kidani until late afternoon, so I believe I'd have to do online check in to have the DP QS credit available for lunch, yes?

And how would I ensure being able to get that last DxDP TS credit (which includes 3 courses, unlike DP TS credits)? Is that even possible without checking in in person at Kidani? If this gets too complicated or isn't possible, I'll just skip the DP for the second portion of our vacay.

I'd just use your magic band from the first resort to pull the DXDP credits on your overlap day. Checking in for your second portion wouldn't have any bearing on your first portion credits.

There's no difference between bands. They're all linked to your account, not your specific reservation or dining plan.

Unfortunately, I don't think this is going to work out for you. The system will use the first dining plan first. You can't use them out of sequence. You might be able to get the concierge at the resort to "fix" it for you after the fact, but I wouldn't count on it.

Well, shucks. Probably don't want to introduce that potential stress into move day. Thanks for the info, though!

How about using snack credits for lunch? there are a lot on DxDDP!

Thanks for the suggestion, but in the overall layout of our trip, we're actually short one or two QS meals if we do DP during the second stay. We could potentially give up planned TS for QS - but (1) our trip is Easter week, so will be busy and I prefer to avoid QS at the parks and (2) we're taking our DGD9 for the first time without her parents. She has quite a few food allergies, and I prefer the higher level of service of a TS vs QS to help us sort through appropriate choices for her.

Truth is, I was looking to add DP to alleviate DH's sticker shock at the end of the trip. We wouldn't save any money, just pre-pay some. But I don't want to spend more adding DP than we would OOP, so I think it's probably time to just suck it up and do OOP. DH will get over the shock.:thumbsup2

I get that. I am doing DDP for half my trip (split stay) because I didn't like getting the huge bill at the end of my last trip. I had the money to pay it but it was a major bummer. I also waited til the last minute to purchase tickets but have mine paid for and purchased 10 months in advance this time. I will also have disney gift card to pay incidentals and the rest of my dining. Seriously that was a sucky bill to pay when I got home!
