We have never used the DDP, but decided to try the DxDDP for our trip in May.

The CM at CRO told me that the DxDDP included 3 ts/cs meals which were appetizer, entree, and dessert and tax without the tip, 2 snack credits, and a refillable mug. I thought I read here that the appetizer was removed for this year. Is that correct? Also each one of the 5 of us recieve a mug?

Are there certain items on the menu you have to order from or do you just pick anything you want?

When we pay for meals will we have to show each room key or will the credits be linked to the adult cards only?

any advice or suggections in addition to our questions are greatly welcomed...

Appetizer was removed from the basic plan only. The DxDDP includes appetizers for TS locations during Lunch and Dinner. Breakfast does not include an appetizer, and no appetizers are included at CS locations.

Yes

Almost as a rule you can pick anything you want. Some locations exclude Sushi, but that's the only exclusion that I am aware of.

Credits are pooled and are linked to all cards, but you only show one card at a meal. The card is swiped and the credits are removed from the pool.

All of our servers were great about the Deluxe plan, whether we charged the tip or paid cash (we did both at different times). At one meal we had the server split it so that we charged the wine (alcohol is not included) but paid cash for the tip.

As many have already posted, this adds up to a lot of food. We would not normally have ordered an appetizer AND dessert every time for lunch and dinner.

We learned as the trip went on to just not finish everything that we ordered.

We still ended up not using all of our snack credits. I would recommend using them for bottled water if for nothing else.

The concierge at The Boardwalk gave us a great tip, which we used: on your checkout day, if you have any meal credits left, go to The Boardwalk Bakery and use them for a great lunch to take along to the airport. We each got a great sandwhich, chips, a drink, and a dessert (the peanut butter cake was AWESOME!). Granted it was easy for us because we were staying at The Boardwalk, but if you end up going into EPCOT at all on the last day the bakery is only a 10 minute walk from The World Showcase.
