DWTS & Kate Gosselin

I'm so sick of the Kate bashing! Sure, having the show has gotten to her head. I can agree with anyone on that...BUT given the situation, I think if any of you had eight children, SIX of them of the same age, a lot of us may have found ourselves in the same situation! I'm not saying everyone, but really, if you had a show and people started to enjoy and started taking pics of you everywhere you went, etc., I'm sure it would go to a lot of our heads!
Yes, she does have her nursing degree and she could go back into that. But really, how many of you would take THAT drastic of a cut and pay when you know you still have to support eight children? 8 kids to go threw college, 8 kids to buy cars for, 8 kids to take to Disney World, 8 kids to do anything with! I'm not saying you have to buy a car for every child, but come on. There's a budget board on this site for a reason. The avg. fam on here prob has 2-3 children and it's a struggle to go to Disney. Let alone 8 kids! And she no longer has her show for support. I would take whatever I could get too!

PLEASE, no more Kate Bashing!! She doesn't have to be your fav. person, but put youselves in her shoes people!

As for octomom, I feel NO pitty for her! She didn't have to continue to have children WHILE she was on welfare! Our taxes our paying for her to have kids...ridiculous!

The average family here on the DIS didn't exploit our our kid's lives so we could live the pseudo celbrity lifestyle. Maybe Kate should have managed her money from the show alittle better, then she wouldn't need to take whatever she could get Yeah, I almost believe that Kate needs DWTS to supprt her family, its more like she needs it to remain in the spotlight

The only thing worth watching on the new cast is Evan Lysacek....and since I already spent the last 17 days hearing all about him, I think I need a break from him too.

At least Kate Gosselin isn't the only harpy on the show. With Doherty and Anderson on there, they've got themselves a bonafide flock of harpies!

I stopped watching this show long ago....but will tune in this year as long as Niecy Nash is still on! Hope she takes it all....

I think it's called "judgemental". Since I have no idea what it is like to be her, I won't judge the decisions she has made, she has not broken any laws and she loves her children.

Well I will judge her, and I don't care that she hasn't broken any laws and "loves" her children. Anyone that puts their small children's lives in front of the cameras in order to make a buck is a disgusting human being and deserves every bit of judgement she gets from the public that she wants watching

ITA, and even though I'm in the minority here, I'm excited to watch her. I'm not a huge fan of DWTS (I'll watch if nothing else is on ect.,) but with Kate being on, I'll actually try to catch her dances. She's really the only one that interests me in the new cast. I hope she stays on for a while.

I will be cheering for Kate...I really think this a courageous thing for her to do...she is certainly putting herself in a situation where she will openly be judged again by the whole world...but she's not backing away...I have never watched this show before but I will certainly be tuning in this season...it looks like this will also be in keeping with the theme of her new show...she might show us all that we limit ourselves by our preconceived notions of what we can and cannot do...my momma always said "You won't know until you've tried".

YES on Jake!!! He's an idiot for picking Vienna but I still love him, such a great guy!! I'll be voting for him!!!

As far as "Kate bashing" goes, my freedom of speech right is still here and allows me to bash her. I can't stand her and am sick of her getting up in our faces all the time. Go home and raise your kids, Kate.... Quit trying to be a Hollywood star. I don't like Jon anymore than I like her but he's not dancing, now is he? Come to think of it, I haven't seen him shoving his way into the limelight either. That woman is seriously craving attention. She needs to go raise those children and be a normal mom.

I don't understand why it's fine for some women to leave home for work when they have children, but not Kate. Is there a number of kids that is the cut off point- if you have up to THREE children you may take trips for work, if you have more than that you MUST stay home. That's exactly right. What constitutes her a star. Oh she had 8 kids and wanted to use them as her means for a certain lifestyle. There are already so many talentless hacks on TV. When she snaps at the judges for booting her off, it will show she has not changed. She's the reason that marriage busted up.I've always said that "stars" in DWTS is a word used LOOSELY!

I agree, and I'm not a Kate fan. She's a working mom; there have been many other working moms on the show. What would everyone like her to do? She has to support her children, and she would be crazy to turn down this opportunity.
