DVCers Doing Fairytale

I was curious how many DVC members are taking advantage of the Fairytale Package.
Either an extra trip or adding on a week?

It is obviously not designed with us in mind.... but I am sure there are a lot of us who just can't pass up a good sale anywhere, no less Disney.

As for me I had 2 nights All Star Sports ( my son's request) and then 5 nights at home at BCV.

Well, I couldn't resist. Sign me up, add FT package 7 nights, concierge, Poly.

Love DVC, really love BCV, & now really excited for extra Disney days and a stay at a resort I hadn't tried. Concierge no less!

So any other confessions?

We have always wanted to stay at GF. In fact my husband gave up smoking when I told him we could use that money to stay at the GF. Well, that never happened, but we go twice a year and stay at OKW, BCV or VWL. Now we have a week at GF using the FTP and we leave about two days after our PAPs expire. So the UPH is just what we need.

Count us in! We're taking extended family to VWL for a week next year and are saving up points - so this was to be the "No Disney Summer" - until Fairytale Package came along. We're a family of five and could only get BW Inn when we planned to go. I really wanted AK, but we thought about it too long until the rooms which accommodate five were all taken. We've never stayed at the BW, so this will still be a treat.

Me Too!! We added on 7 nights at the Poly Concierge LV. Were going to do this anyway for just 5 nights, but with FT package we just added on 2 more nights. Our APS expired and we were planning on buying new ones anyway so we'll just delay until we leave the Poly. We love to stay concierge and get pampered for awhile and then move into our two bedroom unit. Makes us feel like we're taking 2 different vacations!

I will be at Poly Concierge (in Tahiti during this time) from 7/25 - 8/1.

Look for us, something tells me you won't be able to miss us!

Update on our FT package - when I called to give the credit card for final payment - I checked for AKL again. Apparently it was available after all and now we have it instead of BW. I had just begun reading up on everything we needed to do in the BW area and was excited about walking to Epcot - now we've changed gears and are ready for a Savannah view! We're just happy to be anywhere Disney!

So happy for you that you got AKL. As a DVC member you will have oppertunities to stay at BW, but a stay at AKL for DVC members is the "special opportunity treat" that makes Fairytale great for DVC members!

We were looking into to, but decided to stick with our points. It took great restraint to say no to 7 days in the parks, but it would also be 7 days of extra money for food (we weren't getting a home away from home w/kitchen, just regular room) and extra money spent in the parks. We discussed renting our points too, and trying another room, but with a family of 5 we tried to remember why we joined in the first place; so that we could stay comfortably in a nice room and be able to shop/cook if we wanted to. We still hadn't tried our home resort with the kids so we're heading to VWL in Oct. and going to do a few parks "thing"; MNSSHP and maybe one day in Epcot for M:S. The other days will be spent at the resort enjoying the pool, etc. It's all about timing I guess.....and choices. I'm hoping in the next few years there will be some kind of "special" for the cruiseline. That's next for us.

We turned on about four families to the Fairytale special though....we've become quiet the Disney experts...(IMHO)
so maybe one of them will become DVC'ers!

Enjoy your extra trips. We also considered the GF deal, let us know how that goes!!
