Can I ask please why do they give different bands to d v c members

I am not sure why but I do know we rented points in the summer and we got the sparkly DVC member ones. Could be just a psychological perk, could be to make sure non DVC people dont come to the member mingles or other events but obviously not strictly checked because we are not members but we got them

I was wondering the same thing when I was there, all sparkled up with seven blingy wristbands going up my arm.

I just assumed it was an attempt to make us members feel more special or something....because really all the wristbands do is give you access to the pool and beach chairs. I'm not aware of them being used for anything else.

I'm going in December and am a DVC member. Will I receive these wristbands? Are they similar/same as the magic bands? Also I'm bringing a guest with

They are not at all like magic bands. They are viny/plastic and can not be taken off and reattached without getting a new one.

Do a google image search for aulani wristband.

I believe these wristbands are given to anyone staying on a points reservation. Whether you rented points or are a DVC member doesn't make a difference. We rented points and our room key said "DVC Room Only", which is what the CMs at the towel stand would see every day when we checked in for the wrist band, and as a result we always got the sparkly DVC wrist bands. We did not receive any additional perks because of it, and any DVC owner also needed to present their membership card to take advantage of any discount perks (like cabana rentals).

I actually prefer the non-DVC bands. They are thinner and I like the gel colors better than the sparkles.

Just show them your DVC membership card. That's what we did this past August when staying on a cash reservation.
