I was wondering what you can do on the DVC website. Since you have to be a member to even look at the site, I was wondering what kind of things you can do on the site.

Can you actually see availability of other resorts? Pay your maintenance fees? Set up your maintenance fees to pay on a monthly basis?

You can't do any of your above questions.Basically you can view the resorts, room diagrams, directions, view discounts, etc on the DVC site. You can view the members guidebook online. I really don't understand why it is a big secret with a password.

no - nothing like that

just the latest news from DVC - all the books that they send are on the web - the resort information -

DVC is looking at putting more information on the Web/Internet - like us making reservations there - but right now - no

I am very shocked at this. Interval International and RCI both have the ability to look at availability online. I am very shocked that Disney is behind the times!

Is there any talk of them upgrading to show availability? Or any other upgrades?

I'm a visual kind of person and like to make decisions based on what I can see vs what someone tells me is available.

The requirements are far more complicated than those for II or RCI where they're working in full week increments. This is more like several large hotels trying to piece together stays of varying lengths and complicated by the fact that there are multiple rooms types, some guaranteed and others only a request. They are working on an online option but nothing firm yet. Marriott doesn't do real time or direct on line either.

I would not want to pay additional fees for online access and I think dealing with MS works fine so by default that leaves me liking the current setup

The single thing that would be great would be to be able to see my contracts, banked and borrowed status for immediate past use year, current and one forward

thanks
