DVC Travel Insurance

Another question. If I bought this insurance for a trip to Aulani and am going to Maui first will it cover the entire trip and plane tickets? It seems pretty affordable.

It will cover your airfare but only your DVC stay in addition to your airfare. I asked the same question because our CA trip only has 3 nights at VGC. Our other nights are in a hotel and they told me the hotel stays would not be covered.

I believe there are dollar limits to the airfare coverage, but I could be wrong.

We are new members and this is the first I'm hearing of this insurance.

Sounds like a great deal for only $89 per year.

From reading this thread it seems to cover your dues for the points used for the vacation, and airfare? Is that correct?

What would be valid reasons for using it? Any type of sickness? Or does it have to be life threatening? Weather related issues like a hurricane?

If you call Travelex directly they will email you a PDF of the exact coverage. MS has their number.

Am I correct in that if I use 2012 and 2013 points, i have to pay $89 x 2? Also, how much do you get reimbursed for each point. I have a 535 point trip booked using 2012 banked points and 2013 points. Seems I remember back when they used travelguard it was something like $5 a point you were given back.

Along these lines of this topic of cost of the insurance, I have 2 different memberships because my siblings and mom are on some contracts and my spouse on another. The memberships are at 2 different home resorts with the same use year. Does anyone know if the Travel Insurance being talked about here for $89. per year would cover trips booked under both memberships or would I have to buy it separately for both memberships?

We purchased it for our 2012/2013 points - combined some points for our 2013 cruise (had and used some banked from 2012). Thankfully, no claims.

We always buy trip insurance for cruises or any trips out of the USA.

If you have separate memberships, you will need separate insurance for each membership. I have only 1 membership with contracts at 2 resorts and the same use year. I only pay for 1 insurance.

We recently booked a cruise on points. Would this insurance cover us if say weather delays caused flight to be canceled to florida and miss the cruise? 89 per use year doesn't seem bad if could get airfare and dues money back.

I posted this on the cruise board but I just saw this so I thought I'd repost here:

Just wanted to submit our highly positive review of Travelex travel insurance. On our Jan 9 Wonder cruise we had a huge temperature drop which caused an asthma flair in two of our kids. We had brought our nebulizer and meds with us but it just wasn't cutting it and we were worried so we took both kids to the clinic onboard. Our visits and meds for both kids was a little under $400. We submitted our receipts and received a check a week and a half later for the full amount. They didn't call and ask questions or insist we file it with primary first. We were impressed. Happy to recoup the unexpected $400 and will definitely buy from them again.
