I actually wish the mods had left the attack up. That way, we'd know who the attacker was and be able to respond accordingly.
Like the others above, I can't imagine planning a vacation without Bill's programs and I really appreciate all of his hard work. I also realize it's a LOT more work than most of us can imagine to develop and maintain software like this. The IT wizards probably understand, but I'm sure most of us don't.
Thanks Bill!
The 'attack' violated regular DISboard posting guidelines and had to be removed by policy. A similar posting against any other DISboard member would be treated the same way.
I don't mind constructive criticism and welcome suggestions on how to improve any of my programs. But the post that was removed was just name calling. And was not even factually accurate in one claim, stating that DVC-Tracker could not be used to record any 2010 reservations. With the exception of BLT, this is not true. While the program currently would use the old point charts to calculate 2010 points, the user can simply overwrite the 'calculated default' value with the new 2010 values, and record the reservation as usual. This is even explained on the web page.
Anyone can get 2010 values by a number of means, including downloading my DVC-Chart program, which has been updated for 2010.
Thanks to all of you who have posted very nice comments. They are appreciated.
To change the topic a little, I will be needing some users to basically 'beta' the new release before regular release. A beta is simply to look for bugs or errors in the program so they can be fixed. If you are interested in being a beta tester, sometime in June, please send me a PM and I'll start a list. Requirements are that you are familiar with Window's file structure, know how to navigate the files, know how to manually backup files, and are familiar with the current version of DVC-Tracker. You will be making a backup copy of your current data before downloading the beta. After completing testing you will restore your backup copy and continue as usual.
Thanks
